I don't have any problem with that! But i think it will work only on Mac OS X since in windows DLLs the pngs are embedded in the binary...

I like your GUI btw but i have to keep the current one because it resembles the original unit :D

I think having few options for the GUI is not only for our eyes but also very usable for other reasons. For example I like changing ID numbers of the same plugins then place them into different folders with modified GUI. This way when I chain few instances I can easily tell them apart.

The Poshook's variation on the original GUI is not radical at all and adds something really nice.

BTW I do like the original GUI just as much.

Was looking into Sybilla but might have to have a play with this little fella as well...

So trying this and Sybilla out these last couple of days and really liking them but...

I noticed that the SW34 is RTAS now (but not Sybilla) so are planning the AAX releases soon as well?

Just moved up to PT11 and need to start shifting all my projects that way too.

Cheers!

We only recently got the SDK to make ProTools plugins, so only our lat plugin is RTAS.

I'm looking into the AAX, the problem is that they ned to be signed with a tool that costs 500$ a year, we have a very low cost price model and would seem unfair to rise the prices for the AAX to recover the licensing fees...so i really would like to know how much interest there is in AAX version of our plugins before entering a multi year licensing deal...

So how does it compare to the alternatives of the same type of EQ, like IK Multimedia, Waves, UAD etc?

Anyone did some A/B-ing?

I would love to have an AAX version. However, I can also use Bluecat Audio's MB7 plugin to host the VST version. Buying your plugin tonight!

The HoRNet SW34EQ is an equalizer coming straight from the 80s. It's the digital version of the EQ found in an American console and it features the typical analog EQ sound and controls.

This plugin is specifically modeled after one channel of this console used in the main room of Virus Studio, here in Siena, Italy. This EQ is very smooth and gentle, both in the EQ shapes (bells and shelves) and it's almost perfect for general tone shaping, especially the low shelf gives weight to the sound without pumping it too much.

You also get an high-pass filter at 40Hz with 18dB/oct slope that can be activated even if the rest of the EQ is not.

The SW34EQ does not just model the EQ curves but also the saturation characteristics of the original device, we are talking about an 80s console here so there are op-amp everywhere in the signal path and the saturation mainly produces even harmonics, but as you crank the gain a lot of odd harmonics jumps out. Of course the hiss is modeled too and the whole emulation can be deactivated.

We also tried to emulate the workflow of the EQ and we put the frequency and gain knob on the same axis, the only indication of the current frequency for every band is on the outer of the knob, while there is no explicit gain indication for the gain knob, you only know that at maximum you have +/- 15dB of gain or reduction. This is for hardcore mixers who use their ears and nothing else to get the job done.

SW34EQ is available now in VST, VST3, Audio Units and RTAS format on both Mac OS X (10.5 intel and later) and Windows (XP and later)

Try it out on Audio unit and VST plugins for audio - HoRNet Plugins
I'm guessing it's an MCI console. 600 series?

Yes, an Otari SoundWorkshop series 34 to be correct but it's only the EQ section, not the whole channel!

Seek out A/B with the real Otari desk, not other plugins.
