Chandler Limited and Abbey Road announce VST/AU versions of the EMI TG12413 Limiter

Following the release of the EMI TG12413 Limiter in TDM and RTAS versions earlier this year, Abbey Road Studios and leading vintage equipment manufacturer Chandler Limited are pleased to announce the release of VST and AU versions of the TG12413 plug-in and compatibility with all major DAW software on Mac and PC platforms. The new versions will be shown for the first time at the 121st AES Convention in San Francisco between 6th and 8th October.

The EMI TG12413 Limiter is an authentic emulation of the compressor/limiter module used in the EMI TG12345 mixing desk from the 1960’s. Co-developed by Abbey Road Studios and Chandler Limited, the plug-in allows users of modern DAW software to apply the characteristic sound of this rare and much sought after hardware to their recordings. The original TG12345 console was developed by EMI technicians in the late 1960’s for exclusive use in EMI’s studios and was the first solid-state multi-channel console in the world. A TG12413 compressor/limiter module featured on each of its 24 input channels. The TG12345 console was used to record a host of classic albums, including The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side Of The Moon.

The plug-in features two versions of the famous TG sound. The “1969” version is modelled on the original TG12413 module from the EMI TG12345 console. The “2005” version is based on Chandler Limited’s TG1 compressor/limiter, their recreation of the TG12413 module, which was remade from original design notes and circuit board drawings as provided by Abbey Road.

Peter Cobbin, Senior Recording Engineer at Abbey Road Studios says:
"The TG12413 plug-in underlines Abbey Road's commitment to both the importance of our heritage and the highest standards of technical development. It also means that a small part of Abbey Road can be invested into any studio anywhere in the world."

The EMI TG12413 Limiter for VST/AU/RTAS is available now from Chandler Limited and their network of dealers and distributors.

Great news! Are these in Universal Binary-format??? Keep up the good work!
Will it be possible for TDM and RTAS users to use the plugin, or do we have to buy the AU(/VST)-version separately?

It is UB ready. The TDM version includes all types so you can use your ILOK and transfer it to different systems.

Also, people who already own the plug can update for free by downloading the new version from www.abbey.co.uk/ilok. It has not been posted yet but should be up just after AES. If you you cant wait that long drop us a mail and we will burn a disk and send it out to you...
Also the new EQ pack will be showing at AES. It has the TG12412 mastering eq and TG12414 mastering precense/filter module...

Cheers

And now it's time for a Soundscape version. Now that SSL purchased Soundscape there will be hopefully a few more plugins for that platform.

Sorry for hijacking! Could not resist!

I was thinking the same thing. One problem is that Samp does not use iLok it uses "Codemeter" and these are different things. I am not sure that we can use iLok on the same machine as Codemeter and that kind of has me bumbed out.

No big deal, I really more of a hardware guy anyway but this plug had me interested.

Does anyone know if an iLok VST plug will work on a Samp machine?

Thanks.

The VST3 SDK has not been released yet. So... no it will not be a VST3 plugin.

Wake up man !

VST/AU are not made for Pro Tools .

Pro Tools uses TDM or RTAS versions.

So, for answering your question : YES, theses versions will work in another host, for example in Logic Pro for the AU version, and in Cubase/Sonar/Samplitude for the VST version.

Cheers ,

I thought so, but the two places I tried ordering from told me they only deal with Pro Tools plugins...so I had to ask.

That and the fact that I don't work with Pro Tools ever...so I don't know what it can and can't do.
