So i use X1 (hard to come back!! lol) until they update this baby ...again i can say that cause i own X1 , cause for a non Sonar user , it will be validated within seconds ....
X2 for me was like Vista for Windows ..lol and i feel sorry for X2 users ...
No need to feel sorry for us bro,I like X2,or to put it better-I'm accustomed to X2,and the only problems I seem to have AT ALL, is sometimes, and ONLY sometimes when exporting, the result isn't always consistent-but THAT is more to do with this Dell XPS L502x i7 Laptop, than X2.
Anyway after thinking about it,I have MORE than enough tools
[totally ITB,but a waves spending spree over a 2 year period,says it all],except I REALLY NEED decent/good monitors]and that $149-to get X3 prod.,would be better put towards those,even though it's obviously a pitance,even for shit monitors,let alone goodies,but every penny counts,also I hardly need addictive[I already own EZ,BFD2,SSD3.5EX,SSD4 Platinum]or Melodyne-I'd rather just sing in tune-mistakes and all.
As far as PC modules,I must say even though I have them all[up to X2a prod.]I don't actually use them much, except the default quad eq,and I'm not wildly impressed with Nomad Factory also....not saying they're bad,it's just I have the BT stuff[32 bit-I'm all x64,and the built in bridge is fine for me]I also own the Pultec clone"PulseTec Eq's",and it's ok,but not any better than waves PuigTec's,I don't think.
It's just too easy to get caught up in GAS[gear aquasition syndrome]and my perfect example is "I always wanted a Gibson Les Paul"for 25 years-but being Left Handed,I didn't aquire one till 2 years ago......guess what? Sure it's got a great tone, but the stupid "pots" are for a "Righty",they're "backwards" for me!
[The Chinese"Epiphones"are correct for a Lefty,so WHY not a Gibson??? crazy!]
Which makes it unplayable live,as I believe,if you know how to play...a bit,you should always control the guitar with your pinky finger on the Vol.knob....well I can't,and I also think the neck,is about a 1/2 inch too thick etc etc,so I actually[after 2 years evaluation]prefer my old "Hacked up" Ibanez, with a JB humbucker, and one of the first "Fine Tuner Floyd Rose" bridges that were available in oz.
Sure,I have some "left taper" CTS pots[only 2 of them,so NO "tone controls"and they're "stiff" to turn
plus I suck at soldering],but for $2,000,you really don't expect crap like this!
X3? we'll see in a while,I need songs, and to get back to playing my neglected guitar's,not more computer crap, and time in front of a screen learning new stuff,no more GAS[except for Monitors]here!
