Wicked!

Thanks for posting this!!! Great news. I'm just waiting on Macintel compatibility. Hopefully they'll announce that when the package ships in mid October.

Well at the bottom of those links it says MacIntel ready, except on the Komplete package. So id say the new/updated instruments are all Intel ready and the others are prob very close.

So this is why Absynth 3 dropped to 150 bucks. I should have seen this coming!

Battery 3 will now import MPC pgm's.

This is excellent and well needed.

If you buy Komplete 4, you'll receive all mactel updates for free as they're finished..

All the new prods are compatible on release and I expect you'll see the biggies such as Reaktor, Kontakt and Guitar Rig pretty soon..

Cheers

Steve

Just heard the FM8 and Absynth 4 audio-demos; not really impressive.
It has a toy-ish sound to it, as well as the GUI.
I'll stick to the 'old' synths.
Massive doesn't sound as it's title, you can get so much more from Reaktor.
Bummer...

MPC-import for Battery is nice though

I agree with you, Dave-C. Battery3 looks nice, but the others don't sound all that much better than before, and Massive just sounds like another soft synth. At least the audio-demos sound that way.

no need to judge absynth 4 by this demo sounds.

absynth 4 is more possibilities than absynth 3!

this funny sounds on NIs page are just MARKETING of NI to place their app.

absynth is amazing. its not only its 20 farty sound examples.

I may on occasion talk about some of the products I am a dealer for in my posts.. and that's OK! I sell them because I like them. Not vice versa. It's more fun to talk about things you know and love, then things you don't.

Yes, Absynth is amazing, but if I had to present a product like that to the public, why would I post the worst 20 sound examples I could think of?
I'm sure there are much more possibilities with version 4, but sound-wise it hasn't really improved that much.

how do you judge that "sundwise it has not improved"?

it depends on you how it sounds.

give it 10% percent of its features, only one screen with 10 sliders, add a bank of 120 techno trance leads and pads,
and then you would say it has improved?

i think its not so easy.

I'd like to hear Absynth 4 at a 100 plus the 10% you mentioned.
I was only talking about the poor sound-examples: Why not present it
at it's full capacity? That's what they did in the past.
I wouldn't try to sell a Ferrari and let the potential buyer drive 50 mph with it during the test-drive...

Peace

i hear you.
my complain is, that NI has "grown" from a company of sound enthusiasts to a money making company.
and i guess, that the marketing department told them to market absynth as something "wierd".
but i will buy the update for shure. (after the first bugs are removed)

I always felt that NI had a major problem marketing their stuff.
How could you otherwise explain this:
http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=2266
http://www.sonicstate.com/news/shownews.cfm?newsid=2293

I mean who would seriously consider buying this after watching these videos?

On the bright side the stuff is usually a lot better than one might think from their demos so i ordered the updates.
