Jealous.... I'm just hoping to get this before the price goes up on the 1st. Still loving Adagio Violins 1.1. Looking forward to reviews!

Would love to hear these soloed without any efx. The soundcloud demos have SO much verb on them. That always worries me.

Loving this! Missed one file out of around 35,000 - support sent me the missing file within a couple of minutes. Great library.

Here's a file I recorded today - no reverb, just the library.

Have to agree about this. It's a curious choice.

All we need to hear is the instrument as exposed as possible. Not choirs of angels in cavernous halls, etc.

I'm a fan of this company, but I'm wondering if there is any "Eleanor Rigby"-minded super-vivid, present, tactile bowing cello or whether this is a different kind of thing altogether.

The demos suggest a smoothness that is appealing, but... that's a different characteristic than what attracts me to the cello. I'm speaking purely subjectively about my own aesthetic.

I understand the aesthetic you suggest. I don't think you'll find that here. The dimension and vividness of AC is great, but it's more on the ambient side (even with the close mics) than the Eleanor Rigby sound.

The divisi and solo instruments combined could achieve a similar result, but the proximity and dryness you desire may be somewhat elusive to accomplish with this library. Of course, an experienced engineer could do things to bring the sound more up front.

Nonetheless, Adagio is still wonderful for more cinematic scoring and excels in terms of expressiveness.

+1

8Dio is definitely more geared toward the cinematic style in general. IMO, for something more dry and upfront LASS will get you there quicker. In fact I could swear that at one point I heard a mockup of Eleanor Rigby using mostly the LASS first chair patches.
