shoot! I just bought a used Clariphonic a few weeks ago for 1000€. Hopefully after A/Bing them, I get a smile that is worth the 851€.

The UBK-1 is the UBK Fatso (kinda), UAD has covered the original Fatso.

sorry to say but the hardware UBK Fatso is quite a different beast. Gregory has written down his thoughts on the usability of the hardware and the UBK-1 somewhere around here as well :

bottom line : different tasks, different creative potential, after all : do what sounds good to you

I have the hardware Clariphonic and can't wait to get the plug-in version as well. Too many times I have wished I had two in my rack to brighten something up. Now I'll be able to!

Also interested in learning more about the Electra. I have already been considering the Elysia nvelope. I know they're not the same concept but there's only one more space in my rack and patchbay...
