Meticulous emulation of the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor, licensed and endorsed by Peter Reardon

Created by Brainworx, developed exclusively for the UAD Powered Plug-Ins platform

Separate Optical and Discrete (VCA) dynamics sections for two-stage serial dynamics control

Transformer matrix switches between Nickel, Iron, and Steel output transformers — like selecting between 3 distinct vintage console outputs

90Hz sidechain filtering for musical compression of low-frequency program material

Large, accurate VU meters provide Optical, Discrete, or Output gain views

Custom presets created by Shadow Hills founder and designer Peter Reardon

Available as part of the upcoming UAD Software v6.3.2 release, scheduled for early November, the Shadow Hills Mastering Compressor will be available for $299 US from UA’s Online Store.

Universal Audio Announces Precision K-STEREO Ambience Recovery Plug-in

Unique ambience recovery and stereo processing tool, created and patented by famed mastering engineer Bob Katz

Extracts ambient cues from the source material, naturally adding depth and width to the stereo field

Perfect for fixing busy or “narrow” mixes at the mastering stage

3-band Ambience Filter EQ for further shaping the effect

Mid/Side gain controls available to adjust the center-to-side balance

Left/Right Gain controls for final stereo image balancing and leveling

Custom user presets created by Bob Katz

Available as part of the upcoming UAD Software v6.3.2 release, scheduled for early November, the Precision K-Stereo Ambience Recovery Plug-In will be available for $199 US via UA’s Online Store.

Go UAD! Things are definately looking good for this platform. Now, for the love of all that's nerdy, can we PLEASE get a true Distressor emulation!!!

Amazing (can we all please agree in advance to NOT complain about how many chips this is gonna take? I am absolutely OK with a low instance count if it sounds even in the ballpark of the real one!)

Niiiiiiiiice...

Now just some Retro Instruments Emus Missing and I m in heaven.

Anybody knows about the other rumored UA Stuff ? 610 Pre Emulations, LA2A MKII and 64 Bit ? Acutally thought they would introduce 6.4 at AES ( wouldn´t that be nifty.. 64bit with 6.4 :D )

The press release says the Shadow Hills will be available in 6.3.2 - so the common theory that 6.4 will be 64bit seems quite probable now!

Yeah, I guess it eats up 5 cores simultaneously
- so an OCTO would be the minimal requirement!

Software

Where does it say it uses 5 cores? Why would they advertise it for the Apollo then as it's only a duo and quad? No way it is gonna take that many cores for one instance.

I might very well be mistaken, but I thought a plugin couldn't be spread over more than 1 core anyway ?

Sorry, just kidding - I also assume that plugins can´t use more than one core.

Interesting .... developed by Brainworx NOT the UAD modelling team.

Obviously other companies see the UAD platform as very secure, I doubt they'll be a native version of this.

Looking forward to trying out.
