Hey guys. How do you get the upgrade? I love my CT4 (and all the other Massey plugs) and want to check out the CT5, but when I go to buy it, even logged in, there's no upgrade option. Where do you get the upgrade from CT4 price?
Thanks.

Ragan | Login, click "get them" then "CT4 to CT5 upgrade $3". It will be the 4th one down if you own them all.

Thanks. I tried to delete my post but apparently it didn't work. Four seconds after I posted my question I saw the upgrade option.
Umm, this thing sounds wonderful. It's got a really thick, smooth quality.
Man I love Massey plugs.

Finally!! The CT4 has been my default PT compressor for years..., and now it's about to be the CT5. Just updated. $3 is plain ridiculous. Seriously, who isn't going to upgrade?
Thank you Massey!

Being the broke college student that I am, I've been able to put up with the very functional demos that Massey offers. The 2007Limiter basically lives on my SubMaster. I'm about to drop some cash on some plugins, but I'm a little disappointed with the lack of AAX support. I was fortunate enough to upgrade to Pro Tools 10 and with the future movements of Avid still vague, I would feel better investing in something that was more future proof.
That said, right now I'm happy with my RTAS support and everything that Massey offers is by far the best bang for the buck.

Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk | Being a broke college student, I get that lol. I was in college for ONE year and it set me back 20k. Still paying off loans, still figuring out how to get back to school, but I loved the plugins so much that I couldn't stand resetting them every session and it was so worth it to save up and buy full versions of each one. Once you get out of school and get a good job, make the move on those full versions |

He'll have a better deal for AAX crossgrades than anyone else in the industry for all his plugins.
Just buy his stuff!

Just buy his stuff! | Yes, all of Masseys updates have been free since day one. I've never paid for an upgrade since the first one I bought years ago. Don't quote me but he probably will charge little to nothing to go to AAX. So buy no and don't worry, this isn't waves or mcdsp.

The $3 upgrade offer is just unbelievable. Massey could easily sell the CT5 as a 'new' product instead of a CT4 upgrade because it really brings so many great new features to an already great product. I don't think anybody would have complained if it wasn't an upgrade. And mind you, you still have the CT4 after the upgrade.
It's SO great to deal with somebody who not only makes great and innovative products but also treats his customer respectfully.
Considering how useful and transparent the CT4 already was, I'm seriously jazzed regarding the CT5s potential for parallel drum and vocal compression and many other things.
Probaby the only thing I didn't like so much about the CT4 was that it always added a slight boost even at the lowest setting. Now judging from my short test yesterday this has also been adressed with the CT5.

Ok, this thing looks great, but unfortunately the $3 upgrade option is greyed out in my account - and I have the CT4 as well as nearly everything else. I've logged in, am I missing something?
I'm in the UK if that makes a difference. I've emailed Massey, looking forward to hearing this thing!

In the face of AVID losing more & more credibility with every ludicrous pricing decision they make, I'll support Steven Massey to the end. I'd happily pay more than 3 bucks for CT5 too.

Massey's one of those 21st century saints who earns your loyalty simply through the strength of the work and the way he conducts himself.
If I was an Avid exec --- and thank God I am not! --- I would be trying every day to seduce him into an exclusive contract.

Seriously, I can't figure out why some big company hasn't tried to buy him out or something. Hopefully its because he is making a better living on his own then if he where to work for one of them. If he's not then we owe him more then the 3 bucks because he deserves it!

- Click on "login" and log into your account
- Click on "get 'em"
- Press the "Play"-button left of the "CT4 to CT5 upgrade" (it's the 4th line in the list). It turns into a Pause symbol.
- Click on "begin checkout" at the bottom of the page
- Click just somewhere to dismiss the disclaimer that pops up
- Click "Continue to Checkout" button at the bottom of the page
From there, it should lead you through the process.

- c | At this point, I'd be surprised if some arrangement to this end - either contractual or just "casual," if you know what I mean - hadn't already been made.
I mean, the guy won't develop for AU/VST come hell or high water (to the point where I'm now kinda sick of hearing about him I was about to say - but I won't). Seems like one of a few things must be true - either:
1. He hates money or otherwise disregards it completely;
2. He hates even the very idea of learning to program to a new API (which I doubt; he's a developer)
3. Avid is in fact keeping him comfortable as things are. This is my favored explanation at this point for why he won't instantly increase his potential user base by some astronomical multiplier by writing for a non-AVID-hardware-linked format.
Caveat emptor I'm pulling all of this out of my rear end, etc etc.

Being that he was formerly employed by Digidesign as a programmer as well as Trillium Lane Labs before digi/avid bought them out I would tend to think he is entirely on his own now. Why can't it be that he's just a good guy who wants to make killer plugin's for the PT community with out dealing with all the corporate crap. My personal feeling is that he's somebody who wants to be the exact opposite of the model set by Avid. As for why he's stuck to PT only it's most likely because he doesn't have the time to program and maintain other formats being that it's just him and one other person. There are plenty of non PT plugins that most likely will never become RTAS/AAX some of which are really great. I don't see how that's any different from him making PT only plugins. I would hope there is still some people around who are not just driven by money.

Massey knows AAX is inevitable and is coming NEXT YEAR for Massey users. His letter to users today said as much. I'd expect AAX versions within 6-9 months or so. (That timetable is just a guess on my part, but I'd think it's pretty close)

Steve being such a great guy & developer and all, I'm not sure where all this Avid bashing comes from? Don't they make most of yours favorite DAW? To me it's actually incredible we have both working side by side and we are all to benefit.
I've never worked for Avid, I can't imagine what their overhead and expenses are to keep ProTools going year after year.
If you guys have time to bitch you should aim your bitching at oil companies, insurance companies, banks, and many of the other industries that have actually robbed you and that we still deal with politely.
Avid didn't get a bailout...... Just like many of us.
Back to Steve...... Can't wait to get anything you make!...... I love blend knobs!
