Hardware MCAudioLab starts shipping LUNA VariAmb

LUNA is the new amazing outboard that turn on your creativity.

this video tutorial better explains more then hundreds words...

LUNA allow you handling a stereo image and changing the ambience perception. It can be set up in your studio as main stereo bus or, during stereo recording process, as mid/side processor or anywhere in between, even on mastering process.

LUNA works both in stand-alone or in-chain mode for a better flexibility in the studio.

LUNA is not a simple mid-side processor; it goes over... Thanks to two more controls called Mono and Dept.
Mono control basically increases the correlation between left and right channel.
The Depth control makes the two left and right signals unrelated to each other.
If Modo and Depth controls being used contemporary they return a pretty creative effect in changing the ambience informations. More then you can do on a classic mid-side matrix. Just to add more flexibility another control called "swap" swaps the Mono and the Depth or anywhare in between.
Each Mono and Depth section has its own 3-band baxandall EQ providing plus or minus 10dB on each frequency.

After processing, the Balance control lets you putting the left and right channel at the same level (if needed).

On the other hand you can use LUNA as a basic mid-side matrix.
Both Mid and Sides are provided by two continously variable rotary controls: Input and Trim.
Input sets the total amount of mid or side incoming signal while the trim adds plus or minus 6dB to it.
these two splitted controls assure no changing in the original (incoming) stereo information, so you completely control the processing introduced by LUNA.

Mid and Side can be externally processed separately; The insert switches enable this function.
The return signal is compared to the send one.
If both send and return are the same level, two "L" and "H" LED light up.
The "H" or "L" LED remains turned respectively on if return is higher or lower than send.

An input switch sets the unit operating in Left-Right or Mid-Side mode.

Both Mid and Side channel can independently be cut away from the path just acting on the relating cut switch.

The bypass switch completely excludes the LUNA processor fron the signal path providing a hard bypass.

The master Volume control is and supplies up to 6db of overall gain.

Very interesting unit!
Seems some sort of hardware version of DrMS, such deep plugin
which I've been studying trying to really get to know how to use it,
I mean really master all the processes/stages available 'cause I think
it has great potential.

This is definitely something i'd buy, what's the price?

Edit: hold it right there, hand built in Italy? Where are you located guys??
any demo units available?

Yeah! at first blush it seems like an "hardware plug-in". But you can fit Luna into your studio never changing your way of working thanks to its flexibility (see about all send and return features) remaining in the analog domain. Second: Luna doesn't use any kind of reverb!

Price is about $2300 and our facility is located in Sicily.

Some demo unit will be shipped soon... stay tuned.
