Thread Starter | PluginUpdate - an app that keeps your plugins up to date
I've always wanted this to exist, so I finally decided it was time to do something about it.
I'm proud to announce my latest product, PluginUpdate. This app does exactly what it sounds like - it will help you keep all of your plugins up to date, and it will be FREE. It also supports on and offline machines (provided you have an online machine and a USB stick available.)
Public beta will be launching in early 2013. Go to PluginUpdate.com and sign up for the email list to be notified when the download is available.

Thanks! More details will be announced soon. For now, I can say that PluginUpdate will be smart, secure, and won't transmit any private information to anyone.

I am so excited!
I have dreamed of a product like this for ages. Sorry if this is a stupid question but does it work for commercial plugins only or with freeware also?

It will do nothing until you explicitly tell it to do something - we definitely want to make sure that nobody's mission-critical environment is threatened with surprises. It will also support on and offline modes.

It will work with all plugins. Obviously, if an update is paid, you will need to go to the plugin vendor (or authorized reseller) and purchase your update.

I'm just curious as to how this is going to work over so many sites that were all built so different and have different systems to update and whatnot. I really hope it works well and that there's no hidden gimmicks. |
