I personally wouldn't say that NF is the Behringer of plugins mate, Nomad has been developing the plugins behind Specatronics (Stylus RMX, Atmos etc..). So if a company like Spectrasonics trust NomadF to develop their stuff, they must not be that bad.
Also ain't saying that all their plugins sounds great, but some of them do, easy to use too.
Also totally agree, this reminds of me the approach of Reason Rack, one thing for sure, a great step.
Cheers |

Yeah the look is really horrible, NF had at the Beginning the best GUIs now this GUIs look really like a Toy, I hope they sound great, but really a good GUI is also inspiring and these plug ins looks very plastic.

Assuming I'm not assuming too much, this looks like an updated, stand-alone, expandable version of the effects in Stylus RMX and Omnisphere. If this is the case, something I have been wanting for a long time - thanks Nomad Factory.

20 off if you already own every nomad factory plugin. Yippy!
Nice rack concept but I've demoed and it seems like a new GUI over same old effects. Nothing stood out. Maybe I'll wait until they do another fire sale !

It makes more sense now.
Interesting that it will be able to host 3rd party VST plug-ins down the road.
I don't envy the job of making 65 different "devices" look different & good all at once (some of the typefaces are pretty bad, though). I'd expect more time was indeed spent on the DSP.

It may sound better but how is this much different in concept from the rack portions of Guitar Rig and Amplitube? Just sayin . . . .

I think it's good that Nomad is trying to think out of the box a bit with the framework. That could be interesting. However, the effects themselves seem kind of stale, too similar to the somewhat generic plugin bundles that NF is suspected to have 'ghost written'. There don't appear to be ground-breaking or best-in-class plugins here that will captivate anyone. (But I'm just speculating based on the announcement.)

I hope Magma is planning on including an XLR M to XLR M adapter for the line out on their lead guitar plug in.
Regards,
Frank

Never listen to opinions regarding gear. For every 50 nobodies on Gearslutz that say a piece of gear doesn't sound good enough to cut it, I know at least one somebody who is cutting it in NYC with that piece of gear. ... www.diehipster.com |

I can see the guy making the GUI:
"there's no knob on this one, let's try with a plug instead, oh yeah! looks great, I'll paste another one on the opposite side!"

30 years of GUI development and we're still buying products with tiny visual imitations of plastic knobs originally designed to be rotated with fingers, inscribed with lettering that can only be read by a bird of prey, and inscrutable meters squashed into a space that's 3/4 of the actual height of a 19" rack unit.
It looks vintage, so it must be good... AAAAARRRRGGHH!
Having said that, it looks really cool so I might buy it.

played around with the demo. its a lot of fun.
great for sound design. trancegatter , reso plugs my fav so far.
a lot of lo fi/dist plugs.
the routing page to choose parralel configs etc its cool.
im used to the sound since its the same plugs as omnisphere rmx trillian.
but it has moreplugs
i def was not a fan of nomad. but the way the plugs are preseted here and the amount of options , i think its a good product.
not sure about mixing pop and rock with these. but for contemporary and electronic styles is sure great.

. | Sound Design or just to add some funkydelicious effects pack presets stock or from scratch on some audio. Was thinking the same thing and I think this baby is going to have a great use part of my arsenal.
Been a NF user from their beginning and still am. Don't find all of their plugs amazing but some I love and easy of use, always have great pricing & love their Gui as well.
Way to Nomad |
