Thread Starter | bx_rockrack - Guitar amp plugin OUT. Showtime.. ;-)
Hi all, we will release the bx_rockrack plugin tomorrow (June 15) as announced!
It´s gonna be a fully working "public beta", and we´ll have a competition on.. send us your best presets and win $50 if any of your presets make it into bx_rockrack.
(more info on the PLUGIN ALLIANCE website tomorrow). HERE is a new video already: https://vimeo.com/43560635
Capturing the recording chains in THE MIX ROOM (Los Angeles) and the Brainworx Studio (GER). bx_rockrack is $249, we'll have an intro offer of $199 (until July31). DOUBLE DEMOS:
You may try the public beta now, and we will delete all trials and let you re-demo the final version when the plugin is out in the official V1.0 version!
This is the new baby...! ;-) |

really excited to try this one Looks great and love the idea of capturing the entire signal chain.
Any chance you guys did some standard sm57 chains when in LA?

What 5 amps were modeled? Is this geared towards metal?

very excited to try it tomorrow. Haven't heard anything from it except metal and 90s sounding rock. Sounds great! but still hoping it can do more then that.

Since this amp sim looks pretty different from "the rest of the world",
for how it has been modeled - which isn't really, seems more like some sort
of impulse response thing - a question looking at the interface:
all the controls have been "captured" too or you wrote the algos for those?
Also, I'm a big fan of the Shredspread, I imagine the two together work
quite well(?)

We were inspired by a Standard Marshall JCM 800, a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb, an ENGL 530 Preamp and a "hot JCM 800". Quote:

the head all the way, but I gotta say this one sounds really good, eager to demo it.

Sounds pretty good., but is a major cpu hog. Like unusable CPU HOG. Used the tune silent preset and my CPU is in the red.

lowering the oversampling fixed that for me. sounds great! The downside is even with lowered oversampling its a bit of a hog. I guess thats the nature of getting good sound. My computer is 4 years old so that probably has to do with it.

Been trying it out, the plugin sounds pretty good though I find the clean sounds a bit lacking. Sadly though I seem to get a much higher latency than with other amp sims with exactly the same setup. I was hoping to play live during rehearsals with it, but seems things need to be improved a bit for that.

Great plugin! It's quick and easy to get a good sound. But there are two things missing: - Standalone version
- Cabinet bypass
Hope to see them in future.
