Software CYCLIC-Software step sequencer

Hi Friends,

Just found. For me it's almost a 'No Brainer' (40,-Dollar-Standalone). Works fine with Soft-and Hardwaresynths. I have a lot of fun with Cyclic. No Bugs with Logic 9.1.7 & OSX 10.6.8.

Try the free Demo

CycliC step sequencer

Cheers!

Er, how on earth did you get Cyclic to work with softsynths?

I could have sworn that Cyclic ain't VSTi friendly...if I'm wrong, please explain how this works, as I can't see any other step sequencer plugin or software that offers what Cyclic does, and i'm all the more depressed because of this...

Hi Woody Aki,

I'm connecting Cyclic with the IAC-Driver in my Audio Midi Set-Up and Environment in Logic. Both, Hard-and Software Synths. Hardware via External Instrument and Software normal as Software Instrument in Logic.
In Cyclic I select 'to Cyclic' by external Midi clock and 'from Cyclic' by Midi Device to get Midi Notes when recording in Logic.
Sorry, I don't know how it works in Cubase or other DAW's. In Studio One (V2) and Reaper I will test it the next Day's.
But so far, in Logic all runs fine.
Thesys from Sugar Bytes offers the same as Cyclic. As Plugin and Standalone too:

Sugar Bytes Thesys

But for higher costs, however with some more Possibilities. Works fine too here.

regards

Aaaah, I see...I'm an Ableton Live (PC) user.

I talked to the dev on Youtube, and he reckons that VSTi compatibility is the next step. Someone mentioned Thesys, and I might give it a go, but the layout on Cyclic is perfect - whether Thesys has more to offer will not hold me back from purchasing Cyclic...even if it means having to use Reaper.

Yes, I think Cyclic is a very good alternative to other Software step sequencers. More cheaply and offers a lot!
But nevertheless, Thesys is very good too.

I hope for all others that there is VSTi compatibility in the near future. And yes your're right, Cyclic has very good layout. Simply and clear
