I'm kicking out the $$ for this one also.

It sounds more open and less distorted to my ears than the L2. Of course, distortion = percieved loudness to some blessed individuals.

I like mellow mode the best so far, mids and bass sound t

After some more tests, I must say that this is a keeper.

Both 'mellow' and 'vibrant' do the job very well.
Its more L2 in 'loud' mode, but it sounds better at the other settings.

I tried stacking two of 'em across the drum bus and I liked it quite a bit.

I can see each one just barely grazing the meter and it's really thickening things up nicely.

Hey, Steve, the limiter didn't show up available on mono tracks, but I'd probably end up using this thing more on individual tracks than on the 2-bus. Does the full version include a mono version or did I miss something?

Thanks!

Hello Everyone,

Glad y'all are liking the limiter. I spent a lot of time on it!

max,
Right now the limiter is stereo only. I do hope to add a mono type to the Full version as soon as I can.

orville,
After I finish up the XP version of the limiter, I'm going to give Tape-Head an update with that medium setting.

Ol' Betsey,
I'm going to wait on Apple to release machines with PCI slots that can run Pro Tools HD before I commit to a new purchase. So, expect MacTel versions of all the plug-ins sometime after that.

xqtion,
The RTAS version is mostly 32-bit floating point.

Thanks!
Steve

on the Massey Limiter, when you reactivate the plugin, it comes back with it's settings on default unlike most RTAS plugins.
Can a fix for this be incl. in an update?

Luvin' your plugs, great work! Can't wait for the medium TH setting either.

Best plugs in a long-time IMHO.

After further review and using it more....I bought it. It destroys Maxim and the L2. Makes my mixes sound like my mixes, just louder.
Thanks

When you reopen a session the settings come back to default on the demo version .

It's very annoying . I would prefer a time limited working version .

I bought the full version but i'm waiting for it .

Bad surprise this morning when I reopend the session .

I like the demo as it is, I have often experienced demos expire before I get the chance to test them..

I make jpeg's of the plug setting or write a comment at the bottom of the TDM mixer.

The thing is ,I didn't know it was like that until I experienced it and it's on a finished validated mix that I wanted to record this morning .
The one month full version of Eventide was good for that .

I agree with you on the Eventide 30 days demo, it's generous.
A smart move also, they make you depend on the plugs after you've done several mixes with them

Waves 7-days period, on the other hand, is stressing.

I was unable to demo the Chandler plug because my assistant who was doing edits for his band at night kept validating the try button instead of esc .

10 uses is way too little . Couldn't demo it won't buy it .

Agree. 10 is little.
URS provide 50 uses, but I'm not too happy about a 'usage# countdown'..

BTW, I can confirm that the TG comp/lim plug is a good one

much better than L2

i'm still on Waves v4 and have been trying to find a replacement for L2. i think this is it. i A/B'd and i think that on vibrant and slow, it sounds similar to L2. on Loud, it is better. after i finished my comparison, i decided to see what would happen if i cranked down on the threshold of the L2007. wow, it stayed musical. back to the L2, it flattened the mix and brought up the mids. i love this plug and i'm sure i will be purchasing it very soon.

Let's all be thankful Roger Nichols got a hold of Elemental and not Steve's stuff. Please don't sell out Steve.

Yup... if you've purchased it, just go to the download page they emailed you...

Re: the L2007...
Awesome stuff. Put it up last night, and was more than pleasantly surprised. It certainly is more versatile than the L2 (and sounds less like audio being annihilated).

I added the L2007 to my list of plug-ins also.

You simply cannot beat them for the price.

I DL'd the update for Tapehead as well, the medium setting is nice.

Steve, I'm looking forward to auditioning the new limiter.

BTW, I was the guy, who during the ProTools HD panel addressed you with a "YOU ROCK!!!"

Ok, I know I’m probably going to sound like a commercial here; but, I gotta give some props to Steven Massey for his great plug-ins and product support. It seems that these days, if you own a PT TDM rig, you pay way more for your plug-ins than any other format, for whatever the reasons may be and product support leaves much to be desired. Not the case with Steven’s plugs. These plugs sound great even at MANY times the price paid. They are very reasonably priced. Now if that wasn’t enough, it gets better…

No P.O.S. ILok authorization B.S. to deal with! (Don’t get me started on ILok!)

Awesome product support.

Very affordable.

I bought these Plugs based on other fellow Slutz’ recommendations and I am not sorry I did. They sound great. I had one problem installing one of the plug-ins that ended up being a Stuffit issue and had nothing to do with the Plug-in at all. I emailed Steven on a Saturday morning and the same day he emailed me the Plug-in in a *.zip format that solved my problem. I simply can not imagine any of the other Major Plug manufacturers providing this level of customer support (without charging me a fee). Plus, I didn’t have to fart around with ILok and their extortionate policies just to use a plug-in I purchased. I very much appreciate the way Steven conducts his business and the products he makes. Here is where the other major plug-in manufacturers need to take the time, get a f___ing clue and learn a lesson on how to treat their customers. From business policies to product support to a great product, Steven has many of them beaten hands down.

I do not know Steven, nor have I ever met him. And as much as I wish he paid me to write this testimonial, he didn’t. So there you have it. I hope someone finds this useful. I hope I didn’t wear out my keyboard for nothing. Peace.
