ThrillseekerLA: Bootsy LA2A emu released

I'm a fan of this guy's work and is no secret,
I'm very curious to hear his take on the LA2A, but I bet
this one's gonna be a killer compressor.
Several pretty interesting and well designed features on this one
and according to the description a completely new approach on
non-linear saturation.
Anyways, gonna try it right away, in the meantime

here's the link

tried it quickly on a vocal track, and I like it a lot! gave the track a little more depth and clarity than PSP OldTimer.
Sounds very analog to my ears, without distorting the sound.

thanks a lot to Bootsy!

Because this thing looking like it does (LA2Aish) I fully expected it to sound great on vocals so naturally the first thing I tried it on was drums. I really didn't think I'd love it there but it handles drum buss duties remarkably well. Great comp, Bootsie does it again!
(I'm SUCH a fanboy)

Even tried this baby on a Metal/Rock artist album i'm producing and mixing at this moment and loaded this on Electric guitars and simply did add some magic on, just dialled up the Swedish preset and the Sat slider a notch and yuuuummy!!!

Amazing and again simply can never go wrong with Bootsy

Just threw it on a glam rock project I'm working on. Tried it on vocals and they came upfront beautifully with smoothness and detail. Also checked it on the drum buss, from smashing to adding punch and fullness it has many options. Nice comp!

Since we all love this plug so much..................................

LET'S DONATE DONATE DONATE!!!!!!!!!!

The gui looks good too. I think that was liquid mix's downfall. We want to see a nice fat piece of gear on our screens.

Thanks Bootsy!!!!!

He won't take donations, but he's asked that in lieu of that, people write a review of his work if they're using and enjoying it. He's a class act!

This is a nice one. I did not like it on first try but found if you tweak all the saturation settings just right it sounds good. For me I prefer IK's 2A for bass but this one has an advantage on electric piano patches. Fast attack + sustain + stereo field and low frequency all combined is hard for digital compressors to pull off. ThrillseekerLA can handle it with no distortion artifacts. Only one of 3 digital compressors I have tried that can do that.

Bootsy always deliver good plugins but this is exceptional. it's an outstanding compressor and saturation machine. I put it to use in two mixes and i chose him over a fmr PBC- 6A/UN76 on vocals and acoustics. it has something special going with the attack/release it behaves very smooth and musical once you get to the sweet spot.
the idea that this is free actually defies the concept that there is no free launch.
