@Lethem: thanks mate, found out now!

AT LAST Steinberg got their act together and offered this through download.

I hope the same happens when v7 arrives.

I have been moaning but having read about the new features, paying a bit for two half-decent sounding instruments ain't so bad.

I think the quantize and comping tools should be made available free, but can understand paying for the above.

I've found C6 to be extremely stable. By far the most stable DAW I've used. Apart from if you're using the VSTbridge.

Cubase 6.5 Mac link is an Artist version

Hi - I just got the download link from Cubase for my order for update from Cubase 6 to 6.5.

I have downloaded 2 times but both with the error "defect Image" - when checking the Cubase download link I can se it have the word "Artist" in the Mac version, the Win version in the same window is only Cubase.

Is I the only one with this problem or??
Any solutions?

I have send Cubase an contact form.

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, all i have to say I'm really digging the Comping enhancement!! Daaaaaaaaamn!!! Seems even more intuitive and easier to use especially the Select & Slice in 1 Move niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice

Great work Steiny/Yamaha Dev, honestly thumbs up on this update, just the coming add-on are worth.

Happy for the Cubase Users

Is it me or Cubase is embracing more FLAC format? Is FLAC going to become the new format to use to save room size and record lossless audio files? Very interesting

According to the Steinberg forum they will have an alternative link available soon. The files seems to be corrupted by the online shop since the grace periods updates work.

Now back OT; this is a great update and a price is a non-issue, at least for me.
I like the new warping and comping features, they seem to be very useful. Downloading now.

Very nice! New comping and improved Audio Warping. I hope it's good.

Can anyone tell if they implemented multiple Stereo Rewire?

If they have I'm upgrading for sure.

Hmmm. I still don't get the comping feature. Seems great when dealing with vocals..., but what about drums or multi-mic'd guitars. Do you have to show ALL lanes for each track? Drums with 8 mics and 4 takes would need a ginormous screen! Thats 32 lanes right there..... Maybe I'm missing something simple?

Wouldn't you just comp each kit part at a time?

My Recordings/Credits

Turns out I'm in the grace period and get it for free.
Still feel for all the others as this really sucks. How much did it end up costing anyway?

You mean take the snare from take 1, kick from take 2, overheads from take 3?!?!?! Maybe I misunderstood what you're getting at, but that would create some fairly major problems.

You put the tracks in a folder and engage the groups button and everything is grouped

Software Sucks

Hi I think it sucks, payed 200 euro in october 11 to get to C6 and now 50 more?
No way.
I use Cubase since 1997 and I expect at least to get updates in C6 versions.

Software

Will this be a way to charge more for a C6 to C7 update?

Since I had a similar situation with Ableton when Live 8 came out, I would highly suggest you to shoot Steiny an email in a polite manner and explain them your case. They may hook you up with a credit coupon(like splitting the difference with you). Just give it a try.

input/output channels accidentally.
29549 Audio: Exporting a quad-channel audio mixdown to MP3 format no longer
renders the application unresponsive.
29526 Audio: Recalling a VST Connection preset while the Audio Export Mixdown

29702 Audio Editing: After splitting a VariAudio segment of a shared clip, pressing
the Cancel button in the "New Version" window no longer renders the
application unresponsive.

undoing the whole operation now works as expected.
29680 Audio Editing: Using the "Close Gaps (Time Stretch)" function no longer
introduces unwanted audible artifacts.

to optimized event overlap rules.

time.
