Cubase doesn't need a computer to run? wow! When did it get that feature!?

lol but you know what I meant.

Anyway, Steinberg needs to raise their game. The packaging is poor, the update system is outdated (DVD = bad) and if they go for a priced .5 it will detract even more from the whole thing.

Hate Logic too, and love Cubase - that's why I cope with Steinberg and all its BS.

First Page - First post: magazine ad. with five lines of new features.
A little far from "hypothetical new product features" don't you think?

um yes I do actually. I would hardly consider the whopping new vst's to be relevant features for most serious Cubase users.

/cheers

ps that product already has it's own thread.

I wonder if they'll charge even more when going from Cubase 5 to 6.5??

not too bothered about this update; as per previous it does look to be about new trinkets and likewise there's better third party tools available.
Padshop might be interesting though.

If this is a paid update; then my biggest hope for 7 is they tighten the workflow; Studio One has the right idea there.

will I buy 6.5...probably

Cubase 6 has so far been the most stable DAW I've ever run on PC - I've just mixed an album with it running Powercore and UAD's maxed out and VCC on every channel and I have literally not had a single crash or even the slightest anything is 3 months of solid use!

Steinberg seriously have the stuff together these days, I have to admit I find Cubase 6 to be a very high quality product in every respect.

Quality is something I don't mind paying for. That said, it doesn't look like 6.5 is going to have proper dedicated VCA style groups, which at this point is the only feature they are going to get me to get my wallet out for, I can continue happily on the current version and pass on 6.5.

Looks like I'll be waiting for version 7!

Hmm,kinda ironic, considering the fact that Cubase users always complain about the lack of proper included VSTis compared to Logic!

Been running 6.0.2 (6.0.3/4 broken automation and I haven't bothered with 6.0.5) here since it was released with barely any issues at all. Definitely keen to see what 6.5 brings but I'm really hoping it's more than new synths (don't need them). Happy to pay for the update as long as it's downloadable.

Cheers

Well it doesn't really matter what you and I think.

Does it have new features (even if they are not to your taste)? Check
Does it have an upgrade price? Check

These things alone are enough to reserve it a place in the New Product Alert forum.

End of story, lets move on.

Apple / Logic doesn't really need to have people on hand to give support like that, because you very rarely get massive problems, most of the time it's user error.

You already get plugins with Logic that rival 3rd party software, decent soft synths etc. and you never get people begging for a decent free sampler

I love Cubase, but I can see why Pro's use PT's and Logic, and having used Cubase since the CubaseVST days I know that the program is the most unstable out of all DAWS. and the only reason why support has stepped it's game up, is because of Yamaha.
Wow, a really fictional post for the most part. Logic is buggier than many DAWs, definitely more so than C6. Try asking people that are truly expert users of Logic, not just fanboys. Saying that Cubase is "most unstable out of all Daws" is just downright lunacy. Serious misinformation in your post. Cubase, Logic, and PT are all very good DAWs, and all are easily of professional caliber. If your "unstable" claim is based on personal experience, you might want to take a real look at your computer, Cubase updates, and the all other usual suspects. Go back to your bedroom, and get some more experience, or better yet, go work for somebody that has some. When you learn a lot more, it might be safer for you to post.

49 Euro is not much. I am so going to spend it, if just for the improved audio quantize function - perfect for me to fix sloppy timing in my guitar tracks.

Thanks Steinberg. This update is worth it to me for this alone, and if you had asked ONE THING that I could have wished from you, it was Audio Quantize with Warp and Hitpoint functions combined.

I am happy.
