Thanks! It has been a long time coming..... We've been working on projects for other companies for some years now, but now it's time to do something of our own. Also check out the INIL choir, http://www.gearslutz.com/board/new-p...ice-loops.html

With great piano libraries, it is a bit like with London busses: You wait for ages, but then they all come at once.

Only kidding. The demos sound amazing.

As I was saying: Pianos are like crisps, you can't just have one, you have to have the whole bag!
Glad you like the demos!

Hi Per,
Will there be any kind of upgrade available for users that have the previous Black Piano?

also how does the old and new release differ?
Thanks

Hi!
All samples have been remixed and edited using today's technology. We are also using a new feature that we have developed during the last few years. We call it "True Resonance".
TR is pedal down samples that only contains the resonance from the undamped strings without containing the actual note that's being played.
Buy using TR, we can make things like real time pedaling and half pedaling sounding way more natural then before. These samples are new.
Also, there's a lot of features that are scriptbased in Black, that doesn't come with the Black Grand. You also will get the Kontakt Engine with Black.
So, it's really a new piano, you couldn't use the old samples from Black Grand with this.
Rather then offering some kind of upgrade path, we have chosen to put this at a price that will be appealing to all users.

I clicked the link and could not find any 99 black piano that was coming out in March. There were various black pianos though, where is the exact link?

We are happy to let you know that the SampleTekk Black are released!
We used a fine Steinway D Hamburg Grand to make this.
This instrument are powered by Kontakt. That means that you can use the free Kontakt Player from Native Instrument. You don't need to buy an external sampler.

The price is 99 USD and you can check it out at SampleTekk

Very nice and simple interface, reminds me of Ivory in some way.
I'm curious to know, how you did the Sympathetic Resonance? It's sample based or script based (with samples)? Thanks.

The MP3 artifacts on the demos are very distracting. Can't you do FLAC or at least a higher bitrate/better codec?

Sounds great! Is that round robin on the repeated notes? Or is it just velocity layer switching?

The Sympathetic Resonance are samples and scriptbased. We have developed a technique using both mechanical and software aid, to actually record the resonances from each note without the actual note, just the resonances. This is what we call "True Resonances". This are used, among other things, for the Sympathetic Resonances.
