SamplesLoops 909 KING of the KICKS

A new sample kit from Loops de la crème:

909 KING OF THE KICKS

909 KING OF THE KICKS is a massive collection of Roland TR-909 kicks: it features 20 kits and a total of 584 samples.

Each kit was recorded through one specific equipment chain, and contains up to 36 samples with various settings for the tune, level, attack and decay knobs.

A lot of studio gear (from esoteric high-end gear down to vintage fx pedals) was used, with the goal to stay true to the original punch and character of the analog drum machine while providing users with solid, useful and versatile kick sets.

The 20 kits are grouped in three folders:

kits A - NATURAL:
6 kits with subtle, efficient processing (peak-limiting, transistor reamping, Lowpass filter…)

kits B - UNDER CONTROL:
more agressive EQ, various amounts of compression and/or harmonic saturation for controlled, versatile kicks. 6 kits.

kits C - FLAVOURS:
8 kits featuring different flavours of saturation and overdrive, from subtle to creamy to over the top.

20 kits, 584 samples (24bit, 48khz mono WAV)
Total size unzipped: 52MB

INTRODUCTORY PRICE (february 2012 only): 6 euros ($7.90 USD)

Here is a demo featuring about 90 kicks:

http://soundcloud.com/boogalab/909-king-of-the-kicks-demo

During the first part of the track, you can hear a different kit every two bars.

The second part features various single kick samples driving a '4 on the floor' beat.

In this demo, all of the kick samples are unprocessed, directly imported from 909 KING OF THE KICKS

There some nice deep kiks and sounds these samples. The demo seems a wide field, is the demo treated with effects or raw?

Can't quibble over the price though...nice.

Thanks for asking!

In the demo, I used various effects for the backing music, but left all the kicks raw and unprocessed. I then used only a very light touch of limiting to master the track (catching a few peaks here and there)

You'll find the very same kicks, along with many useful variations of them, in the sample kit.

Thanks for asking! I've been using 24bit/48Khz for most projects the last few years, it's a good compromise sound vs size. I'll keep this format for the next few loops de la crème releases, but might consider higher sample rates in the future if there are many request for it

I have so many versions of 808 909 kicks, would you be able to tell me how your product stands above the rest?

Thank you kindly

Thanks for your interest Joseph! It will be a little tricky for me to precisely answer your question as I am honestly not familiar with other similar libraries.

Maybe some users can chime in and write a few pertinent words about these kicks..

Also, since you already have lots of 909 samples, I was thinking that your opinion on this library would be quite valuable to me and also to readers searching for infos and reviews about 909 king of the kicks.

So if you'd like to give it a try, I could send you the kicks for test/review and you could post your findings (either in this thread or in the review section of gs). Send me a pm if you like the idea!

Best Regards,
Ju

Very nice pack... my recommendations

BTW, I just packed them into EXS-presets. If anybody is interested, I'll post them here for free, hoping it'll be okey with Loops De La Crème.
