Quinto, can you make an optional GUI without the heavy shadows under the knobs? If not, no worries i'm still getting it probably!

It was just a thought because i find the shadows a bit too heavy. If this was a hw device in my studio, i would move my lightsource to have less long shadows on it.

This looks interesting! The question is will this work on my system. I bought Verbtone after playing with it at a friends studio but could never get it working on my New iMac. Quintosardo did a great job trying to help me and ended up giving me a quick refund. Even though I was disappointed we couldn't get it to work i must say he had great customer service!

Is anyone familiar with this issue or more importantly has this happened to anybody else with a Sknote's plugin other than Verbtone?

BTW my DAW is Logic 9.

It was Verbtone.
Yesterday we found the bug, finally, it was very hard and it wasn't happening here.
If you want to check it just send an email, I'd really love to check it on a problematic installation. Verbtone is an incredible effect and my favourite one on a lot of sources (even though I shouldn't be the one saying it )

This is a call for sound samples and tests.

If anybody is interested in collaborating to the final tuning of this thing, please send an email with an audio sample (or pointing to) and an example or description of how it could be processed and should sound. I'll post the results and we can fine tune the device and even add some last_minute details.

More "ears" make the device more versatile while waiting for the final version.

Does this Grasso do kind of de-essing or highfrequency compression-softening-silking-make it sound less agressive thing like the fatso?

The starting point is getting tube device, so yes, that is one thing it is supposed to do
(even though strong de-essing needs something else,of course)

I've got the UAD FATSO so I'll do some comparisons between Grasso and it when Quinto sends the beta

+1000

Would be cool if the whole grey series was reworked graphically...

Also Some additions, like red lines or red leds would compliment the grey theme nicely, which I find a bit dull myself otherwise...

IMO the "Grey Line" GUI looks fine as it is and does its job perfectly well. I think the time spent doing fancy graphical re-designs would be much better spent creating more great sounding plugins and improving on existing ones. Besides, when it comes to GUIs you're never going to be able to please everyone, so at some point you have to make a design choice and then stick to it.

Another small brick at 29.99$, serious users won't underestimate things because they are not incredibly expensive

Only the general concept is similar.
Fatso is a saturator with simplified compression functions.

Grasso (Grasso is the whole word, it isn't Grass-O ) is a tube emulation circuit with detailed and multimode compression functions and some more, like shaper, subharmonics generator etc.

The compression stage is multi-mode. It acts in a classic "compressor" mode (attack, release, threshold, ratio) or in a special "envelope shaper mode", absolute and relative. Absolute mode shapes the transient making peaks even (similar in concept to applying a limiter and an envelope shaper), while relative shapes the peaks without leveling them. Quite some fun

Being it full stereo, works as a nice stereo widener, too, when right and left channels harmonics are generated, because of looseness of tube emulations.

Oops... I meant edit, not quote

Not as a direct control, that's an effect of the tube circuits models and the other settings (and input level, of course)

A multitrack drums loop example ready soon.
