This thing is very cool. Works very fast, laid out about as well as something on an iPhone could be. Looks gorgeous. The iPad version will be a huge hit I imagine. Great work!

Thanks for the code, just played with the DAW remote for a few minutes.

I've used a couple of iPhone/iPad-daw controllers, AC7-Core being my favourite (on iPad). AC7 Core is a nice mixing tool, but a not so great tracking tool. It gets better on iPhone, but still i find the buttons too small for what you'd want to do with an iPhone (= Frontier Tranzport stuff..)

This DAW-Remote works fast, buttons are big enough, it looks really nice, and it has everything everyone needs when they're tracking away from their computer.

Very easy to setup as well, really good app!

A simple question:
Can this app make new playlists in Pro Tools?

That's the most missing feature in AC-7 and other remote apps I have tried...and the one most needed when recording in PT.

Thank you for the free code! I had it connected all weekend to test it out. Pretty sweet for the jog wheel alone, but it would be nice to be able to adjust faders. If there is anyway to get the main transport buttons bigger would be awesome too. It would also be sweet if there was a single long fader on the main screen for the track volume (instead of a knob).

One thing that was kinda bad: my typical sessions are over 40 tracks. DAWRemote started at the top on track1. In order for me to get to the bottom where my new track was I had to click the down arrow 40 times. Might not have been too bad, but if you click too fast you get the "rename track" dialog in PT. Would be nice if there was a way to bank or just tell it "go to track 37".

I'll do a proper review in the App store after I've spent more time with it. Thanks again!

Anyone else having issues connecting to Pro Tools? Everything is properly set up in peripherals and it can see my computer but it just gets stuck on "Select A Host" screen after i click on my computer.

Sorry, it can not make new playlist.
As you can see, DAW Remote iPhone version is light and essential. It's not design for doing everything. It just make recording much more easy. Especially when someone who wanna recording themselves in the studio. Or maybe just wanna get inspired away from computer.

However, iPad has bigger screen, by benefit which, we think DAW Remote iPad version can be designed more powerful. And we will release it very soon :-)

Hi there, please make sure "Who may connect to me" in "Network MIDI Setup" window has been set to "Anyone".

It shouldn't be too hard to just implement a "make new playlist" command on the iphone version...and it really is essential when recording oneself in protools.

As it is now the AC-7 can do all the same things in PT as you can...plus quite a few things.

But the playlist function would make all the difference...as in not having to go back to the main computer to make a new playlist before every new take.
