Winter Namm 2012 - No Solid State Logic?

I didn't hear any of Solid State Logic. Were they at NAMM at all?

yep - they were there. i didn't stop at their booth (didn't want to depress myself any more than necessary) so i can't say if they had anything new and/or exciting.

They had all their little consoles on display. The booth looked empty. I wonder if they will return next year?

Was not there so I can't judge, but maybe the lack of new products is to blame.

I spent quite a bit of time there ....the aws 948 is on my list of possible new consoles so i spent some time with it ....the guys were great and really know the consoles ...I love the Api 1608 and the ruppert neve consoles but that little ssl has a lot of bang for the buck...its the only one i really felt you could do a session start to finish on... Kinda surprised me actually

Cheers
Scott

If anyone's interested in a 2 channel setup, they had an interface / control surface called nucleus.. It was pretty decent, you could even switch between different computers through the desk

thanks for coming, SSL

They were the sole reason I went to NAMM. They brought a 48 channel Duality SE and were happy to spend lots of time going over it. They weren't trying to sell me, just supporting what they sold.

That company is first class by my book. Their sound is matched by their people... and that's a very tall order.

I'm not knocking them - I'm an SSL kinda guy - I just would like to know where they are going with Soundscape.

This is from the Nucleus page on the SSL website "Nucleus uses either HUI or MCU protocols ensuring compatibility with all leading DAW applications including Pro Tools, Logic and Cubase/Nuendo". There is no mention of Soundscape on the Nucleus or Duality web pages or manual.

Would enjoy a Matrix with more channels (24 or 32 or even more).
It's a nice product when using lots of outboard gear.
But 16 channels... killed my enthusiasm.
