I doubt it considering that it's not a product that TC owns all the rights to.

Well not really; it's a program dependent dynamics processor, which sounds like something between a combo of a compressor/expander and an enhancer of some kind. Just makes everything sound louder and better if used in a right way.

I've been using for ages on PoCo, kind of a secret weapon in many situations.

Glad to see it come out as native, given the destiny of the PoCo platform.

Really happy to hear this news. I use Character all the time, it's the one plug in I was really worried about losing with the demise of the Powercore!

It's nice that they're giving this free to ex-Powercore users.

Methinks Silver Sonya is speaking from his human moral expectation rather than knowledge of established facts... but that's a guess.

+1000

Especially my Softube CL1B which simply sounds better on the Powercore platform than the native version IMHO.

BUT

I never did "get" Character - isn't is just the "Autotune" of the EQ/Compression world.

It kinda states that in the manual that comes with it. Nowhere does it state that it is a harmonic exciter adding anything to the signal in terms of extra harmonic content.

It appears after reading the manual and using Character that it simply attempts to do automatic EQ/Compression based on some clever algo's - at least that what my manual states.

Personally I always end up with better results if I spend the time properly setting up .... well .... a compressor and EQ!

Enlighten me here?

tht

You mean we aren't entitled to a free copy of the native version if we bought the PoCo version 8 years ago? And if it's list price is cheaper, they owe us the difference in cash.
