Looks great!

Just to clarify the "8 outputs" VST version...does this allow you say, route the kick to one channel within the DAW and the snare to a different one?

That's right Dz7.
You have 8 outputs for each of the instruments, 1 master output and 2 effect outputs.

I put some video tutorials that show how to use Groove Drums with Ableton for example:
- Create Pattern with Random Tool.
- Randimization Patterns.
- Randomization Live.
- Drag & Drop MIDI File - Export Audio File.
- Multi Audio Output Mode.
- Pattern Section.
- Drum Kit Section.
- Global Section.

Great!

Are there any plans to expand the # of steps to say, 256? Even 128 would be a huge step forward. 256 would be perfect. That would be an instant buy for me.

Thanks Dz7 for these interesting suggestions that give me ideas for the next update.
For patterns of 256 notes, you can always link the patterns of 64 and have a sequence of 1024 notes maximum.

Oh! I'm a little confused, so it's possible to make multiple 64step loops within the same instance of the plugin? In other words, I can make one 64 step pattern, then a different one, etc, and switch between them? Is that what the green buttons are for?

The green buttons select the number of steps. The 16 patterns x 64 steps are the blue buttons above the buttons LOOP, CHAIN ??and RAND that can choose how to chain the patterns.
I suggest you to download the demo version and to watch the tutorial PATTERN SECTION IMEA Studio - Music Electronic (Sequencer, Synth, Vst)

I've had some bad experiences with demos that are maliciously coded so I tend to stay away from them. This clears up my question though, thank you! I'll be purchasing the software today.

In regards to expanding the #steps per pattern to say 128/256, and perhaps a more intensive browser (similar to the one in Battery) that would make this the perfect sequencer in my opinion.

Great work!

Hey everyone,

Thought I would give a quick update - I set this up via ReWire into Pro Tools (no RTAS unfortunately, apparently I cannot read!!!...though I've emailed Dan and asked if he can look into making one, fingers crossed) and I must say this program is very straight forward and increases workflow tremendously. It's really simple to experiment with grooves and get them sounding top notch in just a few minutes. The "swing" feature in combination with the pitch shifting is incredible, and when you individually route channels you can add plug's/outboard to each instrument (kick/snare/etc) while you change samples, grooves etc in real time. It's SUPER quick.

I'm very happy with this.

What I'd like to see:

1) RTAS Version (Rewiring is a pain!)
2) Each pattern expandable to 256 steps

I'll post more later on when I have some more time to experiment! Great work!

A new version of Groove Drums standalone lets you create drum loops and export them to wave file without using a DAW.

can you do triplets right now? i would like that

I would also like to see these 2 features - the ability to layer drums on for round robin and also more channels - 8 drums is a little limiting, and opening another instance defeats the purpose

Thank hardwinte for all these suggestions.
No, it does not do triplets, but with the Fill function you can multiply by 2, 3 or 4 the number of hits in one step.
I plan to develop a version with more instruments, more features and I would not fail to take into account your comments.
For this current version, I limit it to 8 channels for simple ergonomics reason.

Just wanted to chime in here and spread some love for IMEA Groove Drums. I have tried my share of drum sequencer plugins, and this one stands out by its ease of programming and by its nifty implementation of randomize functions that really help to come up with new grooves.
And, something not to be underestimated, Dan is very responsive to e-mail inquiries and very helpful.

Enjoy,

Jack

Well...just tried the demo. You'll have a new costumer pretty soon!

Well done! Very user friendly, very intuitive and great sounding.

Looking forward for the full version.

Will give a deeper feedback when I have further knowledge on the plug functions.

Congrats!

Thanks Hardwinte for your suggestions, I just made an update of DRUMS GROOVE with new features and improvements:
• You can use the mouse as a paint tool for creating hits with different velocities.
• Ability to copy the hits of an instrument to another instrument with a drag & drop or a context menu.
• Improvements in CPU resources and the resources used by the edit window.

Yes the copy and paste is working great I gotta say. Now if I want to copy only a single track from a previous 'loop' onto another 'loop' I can do it, whereas before you only had the ability to duplicate entire loops with all 8 tracks bundled up.

One of the better developers here! :D Still using it every day.

And that paint tool is no wimp either, makes writing grooves with ghost notes or just dynamic grooves a whole lot easier.

Groove Drum Synth

Hi everyone,
I just realized a new version GROOVE DRUM SYNTH which combines the sample with a synth.
IMEA Studio - Groove Drum Synth

I made an update of DRUMS GROOVE which allows 12 channels instead of 8.
