Software Garritan Instant Orchestra

Garritan Instant Orchestra is about instantly producing orchestral music very quickly and easily. Our goal is to provide an instantly playable orchestral library with many pre-packaged orchestral sounds.

This library was designed to be an effective shortcut to reach your musical goals. Consider it as a Swiss army knife for musicians - a clean, simple, multi-purpose orchestral tool that will allow you to do many things in an instant. Moreover, it is affordable and fulfills our mission of simplifying and democratizing making music and orchestrating.

Instant Orchestra vs. Personal Orchestra?
Instant Orchestra is for those who do not want to spend time building orchestrations with one instrument or section at a time. It provides pre- packaged groups of instruments, combined sections, orchestral effects, and mood-based presets. Instant Orchestra is designed for those who know little about orchestration or do not have the time to build them. The idea is to provide a large variety of lush, playable orchestrations with the least time and effort.

Garritan Personal Orchestra’s focus is on individual solo instruments and some sections of instruments in order to build orchestrations. Usually knowledge of orchestration is required.

Instant Orchestra can be a perfect complement to Garritan Personal Orchestra.

Features in Instant Orchestra
Orchestration has never been so easy! Garritan Instant Orchestra is a must-have library that offers an easy way to make super-quick orchestrations in minutes--from start to finish. Includes amazing orchestral instrument combinations and effects, bombastic brass, ultra-lush strings, low-octave rumblings, spooky wind textures, mega-hits, wild overlays, silvery choirs, light glissy harps, cathedral orchestra, delicate ensembles, ethereal textures, chaotic whirls, rises, glissandi, chord clusters, and much more...

Intuitive and Easy to Use
The goal of Instant Orchestra is to make orchestrating easier, with minimal effort and without the complex hassle of sequencing and setups. Everything is pretty much orchestrated for you and ready to go - just load your sounds and play! The library does not assume any prior knowledge of scoring music or orchestrating. This collection is a perfect supplement to Garritan Personal Orchestra and other Garritan libraries..

Instant Download!
The new Instant Orchestra is affordable, eco-friendly, and available on demand. Simply download and play. The entire Instant Orchestra sample collection is less than 900 megabytes (compressed) can now be downloaded with a fast internet connection. There’s no shipping, no waiting, and no box to discard. Downloadable instruments are a small step to a better earth, and a giant step for creativity.

ARIA Advanced Instrument Player - No Sampler Required

Garritan Instant Orchestra also features the Conexant® Endless Wave™ technology for hard disc streaming of multiple combinations for large orchestrations.

Mood-based Ensemble Presets
Garritan Instant Orchestra contains a collection of useful, pre-configured instrumental combinations. Presets can give you a quick and easy “head start” to setting up a group of instruments. These useful presets are ready to go and can range from intimate to massive, spooky to sublime, natural to other-worldly - so you navigate based on the feel you want.

Ok ive just found out that the info may be out of date as the Aria Player used works in Mac 64.
Audio Engine | ARIA Engine | ARIAEngine.com

Here is a Quote from Chad from Patch Arena that i found at KVR...

"The ARIA Player AU, VST, and Standalone are all 64bit on OSX for the version included with Instant Orchestra. The details on the IO product page for (win only) are out of date."

So seems like just an early oversight on Garritan's behalf.

just took a look at the files-they're all 'executable' so not able to get much info.
They sound good. Really cool morphing ability in some patches.

I bought it. The brass and woodwinds sound better than the strings unfortunately, but the strings aren't pad for pad things in pop stuff. There's a really cool blend feature - blending a string section with silvery woods (really nice flute thingy) gets a really nice mellowed ish pad.

agreed. Some of the sections could benefit from outside library support but it seems as Garritan acknowledges this and decided to go for more of a 'writers inspiration tool' rather than a massive and pricey 'top shelf' VI. We applaud this as it actually makes it somewhat unique in the lower end market and honestly, anything that easily draws out creativity gets a big 'cheers' from us.

I informed Gary of the out of date material on the IO Product Page. It should be updated shortly. But yes the above info is correct, AU, VST, and Standalone are all 64bit on OSX.

16-bit 44.1k in the current form. We downsampled to 44.1k 16bit for a smaller download package. So there is potential to create a 24bit version with more advanced features if there is a demand for that. Please contact us, or post on the forums to let us know.

It's good to hear that you guys are enjoying the "Blending Textures" patches that morph between different instruments.

I put together an Instant Orchestra website here. Instant Orchestra It covers some more details regarding the Instrument Details and Library in general. You can also go here if you want to hear more mp3 demos: Instant Orchestra Demos on SoundCloud

Let me know if you have any more questions.

Best,
Chad

I make electronica that usually has a hint of Orchestra in it for years all I've ever used is the strings in Atmosphere/Omnisphere and IK Philharmonik.

Its about time i invested in a new Orchestral plugin and this Garritan Instant Orchestra looks to be ticking all my boxes....

As long as its 64bit in logic ill most certainly be buying once payday arrives

Hey Chad,

I have a question for you:

I have Personal Orchestra 4 (which I still have to install on my new set up) and I want to purchase Instant Orchestra. I see in the Free Downloads section when I log into my User Account that there is the ARIA engine (1.111) and ARIA Player (1.111) & the ARIA Player 1.28 FOR INSTANT ORCHESTRA ONLY. So which one(s) am I installing if I wanted to use both programs?

Thanks,
~Iz

I would certainly be interested in the 24bit version.. I purchased the 16bit one and it works great as a 64bit AU plugin with Logic.... I was also thinking about buying the Personal Orchestra, but like the previous Poster, I'm a little confused as to which Player i should be using if I end up doing so. Will the "Instant Orchestra Only" version also work fine with Personal too and can i mix and match sounds from both in the same combi?

Hey Izzi,

It's really easy, you only have 1 ARIA Player/Engine which will load all of the Garritan libraries. So if you have GPO4 & Instant Orchestra, they will both be using the same ARIA, and show up as individual products within the bank menu.

If you do pick up Instant Orchestra you'll want to make sure that you use the latest ARIA Player/Engine which is included with the IO download, but also available as you have seen from your account page. Instant Orchestra uses some new programming and that is why it was released with a higher ARIA Player/Engine version.

Cheers,
Chad

You'll always want to be using the latest version of the ARIA Player/Engine. If you do pick up GPO4 just make sure that you install the 1.128 after to ensure that your libraries will be using this version.

All of the Garritan libraries load within the same ARIA Player/Engine, so you can mix and combine instruments from different libraries in the same instance of ARIA.

As you have seen with Instant Orchestra, the ARIA Player installer is now separate from the library (instruments/samples). All of the new Garritan products will follow this method to make it easier for everyone to ensure they will always have the latest ARIA installed.

Best,
Chad

I have GPO 4 and like the ease of use and sounds of the IO. Would be nice if existing GPO users could get a break, as this really looks like more of an add-on.

Gave me pause at $150.00. Probably would jump on this now for under $100, but I recently upgraded to GPO4, so will have to wait.

I was thinking the same thing. I may become interested in this if they ever offer a promo for GPO 4 owners. $150 is probably a tad more than I want to pay, although I'm sure it's a great product on it's own.
