Lol. | Waves must be like Santa Claus - they keep a list of who's naughty or nice, and release bug fixes and new revisions accordingly. So I think I we know who's been a bad boy . . .

True though, they are very solid from the get go anyway |

Most audio software companies have big end of years sales, no? Been doing it for years? WUP anniversaries should fall predominantly around the holidays? Does this make sense?
So it's very attractive to do the WUP thing around the holidays. Last year's deal was awesome. I bet they'll do it again this year. Maybe not as awesome, perhaps merely super.
And then Waves does a version up shortly afterwards and that's a bad thing? It's win-win to me.

True though, they are very solid from the get go anyway | Yes, I think that because they have a pretty solid product out of the box (I've had a couple of issues, that were eventually fixed), and by the sheer number of revisions per version they have been releasing - 13 for version 8? - they've clearly been hard at work - and I give them credit for that - I'd say Waves stands above their peers in this regard.
Now I've been somewhat critical of WUP and how it was implemented in the past. But I think Waves is clearly on the right track lately. Their prices have become more reasonable to someone like me. They're dropping the iLok. All good for me.
A certain DSP card-based platform would be getting my money, if their hardware wasn't so overpriced and under-powered |

I guess I'm also assuming the biggest part of Waves customer base would tend to buy stuff on sale. Home studios, small studios, etc. As opposed to a more professional studio where if you need it now you buy it now.
All I know is I'm liking it |

All I know is I'm liking it | I think that more sales during the holiday is logical for most consumer products in general.
Major & select studios are probably comped.

Waves has big sales all year round. Some bigger than others. Will the new NLS summing plugin come in the V9 release?

could this be the tipping point where more users take the 64bit OS plunge ??
still holding out on W7 32, even though I have 16gig of ram installed.....
might be the time once waves hits 64bit
