Well... that IS absolutely, exactly what I was trying for. I too found the Bricasti stuff to be like a holy grail- at that price point and mode of use (as outboard gear) I would hope it was!

I'm glad you can hear that I tried, or hear the intended resemblance in some way- in some cases like with Rim_Europa I've allowed the remaining difference to be demonstrated very obviously, because I like being honest. I'm a lot more interested in getting spatial resemblance to what I've heard out of Bricasti than just tonal resemblance, but I can see how part of it is the tonal- that's through my comb filters being more complicated than they normally are, and (as seen in AllSpace) that adds CPU hit very rapidly.

I hope the way the brightness control works is suitable- the examples required all different settings on it, and it uses 'smoke' out of AllSpace but covers the fuzziness with filtration so the rolloff is just slightly fuzzed out. It's using a technique out of my old plugin Chrome Oxide that's probably going to find its way, in some form, into Iron Oxide and ToTape before very long.

Are you saying that the Brightness control in FS3 uses Smoke from AS?

Or did you use AS for some of your examples?

Neither- not exactly.

AllSpace has Smoke as its own control, separately from Treble.

FarSpace3 doesn't implement either of them exactly the same- they sort of merge, so there is no setting quite as bright, or quite as rolled-off, as AllSpace can do. It's set up so that for every setting on Brightness, there's a calibrated amount of the Smoke effect breaking up and fuzzing out the top of the rolloff. If you run sustained high frequency tones into it you can hear what it's doing to some extent. If the tones are higher than what the acoustic space would support at that decay level, it won't just mute them, it'll fuzz them and you'll get a noiselike effect, but not exactly noise...

None of the examples use AllSpace, but I'm thinking of trying to do Rim_Europa with AllSpace to see if it's better, as it's structured very differently inside. What would happen is you'd hear possibly a better emulation of the Bricasti one, but mono, and then it would slowly slowly spread a little bit into stereo, but only a bit...

If I said 'why no, nobody at all ever got it, you'd be the first', would that be bad, or good?

It's got a demo you can try, here: http://www.jinxtigr.com/f/FarSpace3Demo.dmg

Do you think it's $50 worth of good reverb? A distinct flavor you can use? If so, I would say go for it. Besides, if I turned around and did the best Farspace in the universe next year, you'd get that free. I think there's quite a few people who would have bought this had I not given it to them as a free update.
