Installing pretty much means four rack screws. I'm sure any dealer would work out a deal if you were buying a fist-ful* of gear.

I think you are missing the point of the Raven, though. There is no connection or interdependency between the Dragons and Foxes and the Raven; the Raven is a monitoring section with a big desk/DAW controller built around it. You'd need a ADA converter to integrate any analogue gear into the mix.

You understand it's essentially a monitor and DAW controller in an Argosy-type desk, right? It's not an analogue gear hub.

What would be better patching solution than dumping your patch bays in the rack spaces?

The better solution would be to buy a DAW controller , ipad dock , monitor controller and studio furniture separately , so there is no point talking about that . With some more analog features i would become more than a gigantic bigknob with faders and ipad dock

A better solution if you didn't want an integrated solution, I guess. This is for the people who are less interested in a piecemeal workspace and want a made-to-order core for their DAW work.

So, really you are talking about a different product then. Something like the Matrix or AWS 900+ and a patch bay?

The RAND Corporation shouldn't worry though....Their design utilizes the work space much more efficiently....

Yes, and check out that retro LCD. I like the idea they have it mounted out of line of sight and in the corner. Like they say, "Out of sight, out of mind".

And dual "steering wheel" style scrubber.....!

You will be required to purchase your own desk to fit this into and be responsible for adding your own: preamps, convertors, faders, controls, outboard, etc...

But trust me, it really is a convienent and well thought out device which will completely strealine your workflow. Everything that you will need is there.

I waited for the pictures and then when slate failed to show them I bought something else. If you feel that this will never come to life I suggest you do the same.

Just a basic calculation of Argosy desk prices, say an Avocet (more features with i/o and cue mix so unfortunately probably more expensive), good VU and LED meters, plugins from Slate, and if MC mixes are included, it'll easily run over 10K.
Can't see it coming cheap.

Your comments throughout this entire thread have been wearing many of us thin. If you are trying to win the award for "troller of the year on GS", you are currently a frontrunner.

+1

It'll have to be well over 10K, probably *significantly* higher depending on options chosen. I'd love to be wrong about that, but that's unlikely unless Slate moves production to China.

This is somehow funny..

I think it is a bummer product.
But the lack of posts proves it to.

But by all means.
Peace to everybody
