Another new synth was announced today at Namm 2012. I've never heard of this company before! Studiologic Music

here's more info on it:

MATRIXSYNTH: NAMM: Studiologic Sledge Synthesizer

and the official site:

Studiologic Sledge

Studiologic has been around for ages. They make many midi controller keyboards. Studiologic seems to be owned by Fatar, which of course makes keybeds which are in plenty of synths, keyboards and organs. My favorite keybed ever, the one that is in the Virus KB, is made by Fatar.

As for this synth, I think that it looks pretty cool. It's certainly more interesting than all of those tiny, boring mono synths which some people seem to be going gaga for on various threads.

It's a repackaged Blofeld, apparently.

A smaller screen, but LOTS MORE KNOBBAGE. (And better ones, with a Fatar keybed!)

So, a "fixed" Blofeld, some might say. Probably pricey, hopefully worth it. Shame there's still no secondary outs though.

Blofeld can load custom samples. Would be amazing if Sledge could do the same.

I really could not see an orange eggy synth sitting in my studio, plus those inputs/outputs on the side would cause a huge spacial/visual problem in my studio. I hope they change these. Looks like its marketed at the young laptop gigging musician that craves attention, when it could appeal to so many more.

Let's hope it never ends up in your studio then...
I see this as a great live tool. Left side inputs is a nod to their Numa piano-series, and I really don't mind that. The orange colour I like!

I played this one a bit at NAMM. Very much enjoyed it. Great sound, nice big knobs, just a pleasure to play. I saw the name Waldorf on it but didn't immediately put it together that a Blofeld was inside, which actually I consider a good thing. I hope this thing gets more attention; it deserves to.

I think it's in keeping with the historical Waldorf colour schemes of years gone by. I like it cuase it reminds me of jeeps and sand buggies when I was a 70's child

Personally more interested in the sound and what the guts can deliver...

If it's good enough for Steve McQueen then it's good enough for me....
