| Plug In Count ?
Rim, How instances of lets say Fabfilter Pro Q have you been able to run in your tests so far? I believe Auria is not meant to replace a full blown DAW setup but I would hope to be able to run a "reasonable" amount of 3rd party plug ins that will be available. Thanks

Of course, we're still optimizing, so CPU usage will get better as we get closer to release, but I can give you a rough idea: each instance of Pro-Q takes about 2-3% of CPU. So, depending on what other effects you have in your project, you could use 10-20 of them with no problem. Auria also has a track freeze function, so that would reduce CPU much further. Rim |

Wow, I'm aware that the iPad has quite some horsepower under the hood, but THIS is amazing. You guys sure are squeezing a LOT out of that thing...very cool!

Definitely going to buy this one! Why not make a desktop version as well? ![]() About the same pricepoint, transfer not only volume automations but also the built-in plugin settings. I'd buy the desktop version for the sweet sweet sweet PSP channelstrip alone :D The fact that PSP is a great part of the deal really means a lot, i love every plugin they're doing. |

Just to be clear, there seems to be no mention of MIDI sequencing of any kind. I'm ASSuming this app is all about recording/editing/mixing audio, and only audio. Is that correct?

mmmm - I wonder if I should pull the trigger on an iPad 2 or wait for the 3. obviously the 3 is going to have performance advantages but when will Apple release it? Also no MIDI / software instruments? or am I mistaken? and what about I/O? is there a list of acceptable options? |

This point, I'd wait; iPad3 is only a month away.

i hope we will see midi-support in some updates...but till now it was not mentioned. in one post they said they will show a list of the qualified devices (usb with max 18io) when they release the first public version. i think rme, motu will be on that list. but that is just a guess. and who knows...in the end of the year we will probably see an iPad-thunderbold-adapter? | |

All this app needs is midi and Toontrack to port over EZDrummer. You think it doesn't have the power? Think about your DAW from not too long ago. I had a single core Pentium 4 with 512MB of RAM running Cubase and EZDrummer back then. No sweat.

This will be THE MOST PORTABLE remote recording setup EVER! I don't see much use for mixing, but man, talk about travelling light...

pretty small remote rig... if your take the interface, preamps, mics, cables, and stands out of the equation. Oh, and for live work, don't for get your splitting transformers. Pretty cool for some though. Great for the songwriting crowd. |

Absolutely amazing that the app is so optimized, especially considering the fact that the new iPad's CPU is probably not much faster than the one in the iPad 2. Feature request for the second version: Adding basic MIDI and Fabfilter One would make it perfect!! |

I will believe the iPad can record multiple channels (4 or more) when I see it. Can someone post a video anywhere of the iPad recording greater than 2 channels at a time. Vaporware... |

I'm really looking forward to this, but my big reserve is app stability. I've had an iPad for about a year and a half and the only apps I have that don't crash are made by Apple. Every other app crashes randomly. I wouldn't be confident using this on paying gigs at this point, but it'd be great for going around and recording your buddy's practice.

Yea, I was gonna say - we've been recording multiple channels of audio to much slower hardware for over a decade now. The flash memory inside the iPad is a magnitude faster than our SCSI drives back in the day required to record on PT systems. The CPU in the iPad from a computational perspective is way faster than the G3s and G4s we used to use to record audio.

...and wishing Wave Machine Labs was spending their time on the x64 update for Drumagog instead of this. I couldn't care less about recording to an iPad, multitrack or otherwise.

Greetings, As everyone has said, this is an amazing accomplishment. A quick question... Is it possible (and if so, what are will be the steps needed) to get a 2-ch mix-down in .mp3 formate, all from within Auria? |

This looks good, but, the lack of midi and a piano roll + instruments only makes it a half way DAW imo. A full fleged DAW is what the Ipad needs.
