SamplesLoops Coming soon on patchpool: Warped Strings for Alchemy - pre-order now and save 20%

I've started working on a new soundset for Alchemy:
Warped Strings for Alchemy

For this Alchemy soundset an acoustic Western Guitar will be multisampled, treating it with all sorts of tools to create unique sounding real and unreal instruments, otherworldly textures, groovy sequences, beautiful soundscapes and cinematic pad sounds. The guitar will get hurt during the process but it will be well worth it. All samples are recorded with 3 Neumann microphones and processed with native and outboard gear, to make t the best out of the recorded audio material.

Warped Strings Specs:

About 1,5 GB of original stereo samples recorded in 48 Khz/24 Bit
Multisampled acoustic guitar played and treated with various tools, multiple Round Robin variations and velocity layers will be sampled for many patches

Fingered and slapped Guitar
Plucked Guitar using various objects like coins, screwdrivers
Tremolo Guitar
Beaten Guitar using drumsticks, mallets and hammers
Scraped Guitar using various metal objects for scraping the strings and the corpus
Prepared guitar
Flagolet Guitar
Bowed Guitar - bowing the strings with a violin bow
Guitar loops
A wide variety of electronic textures derived form the recorded guitar sounds will be included

Recorded with 3 Neumann microphones in L-C-R - 48 Khz/24 Bit
U87 center mic - a stereo set of KM 184 for L-R
This soundset will contain about 50 patches with 8 variations each

Delivery: Download
Library size in total: n.a.
Download size: n.a.
Release: 2nd half of February, maybe earlier...

NOTE: This Sound Bank will require the full version of Alchemy.
It will not work with the Alchemy player version.

Price: 25 € - pre-order Warped Strings for 20 € now and save 20%

Thank's for reading

Alchemy has way more power than Kontakt when it comes to manipulation of still sounds.

I think that's why Simon prefers Alchemy. It offers more possibilities to modify your sounds.

You should download the free Alchemy Player and see how it sounds.

Well there will be parts of this set for Kontakt but not the whole thing, it's just too much work to prepare everything on two platforms and many things in Kontakt would not be scriptable anyway...
And thank's for the flowers...

I appreciate that, I used to own Alchemy! However, Simon stated in his first post that it doesn't work with the Alchemy player, only the full version.

I might have to wait for the next camel audio sale!

Again, another fantastic demo. I could hear an entire soundtrack being used with this product at the core.

Here is a demo track with the new Stick Guitar mad of 135 samples beating the strings with drumsticks - 5 Round Robin/3 velocity layers - 9 different pitches were samples (also tuning the low E to a low G0) all open strings and B3/E4 on the high E-string - really a very expressive instrument - yipeeee....
I'll make some more patches with those samples tomorrow....

Here is a demo with some guitar loops created by beating the strings with a hard Glockenspiel mallet, quantizing them with Melodyne, saturated and compressed as well, then syncing them in Alchemy with MSEGS - the Drone/Pad sounds are metasynthed guitar strings...
I played the loops at 90 BPM, the demo is at 113 BPM

This demo is very strange - a patch made from/with samples produced by rubbing in between the strings with a small Rubberball. The patch uses the original samples in Granular mode and processed derivatives made with Metasynth and other goodies.

Fantastic sounding demos Simon...can't wait for it's release :D

I really like this idea of 'specialized sets' featuring more esoteric instrument experimentations. The imagination and quality of the sessions combined with the advanced sound design within Alchemy really make these special, easily standing out in the 'crowd' of sample sets as being truly inspiring instruments ;-)

Thank you Chris, my decision to focus on various materials and single instruments for Alchemy was the right one I think - and it's also better for my sanity not to work on those huge Banks all the time where you know that you have about 10 weeks of work ahead of you...

Can you elaborate please? I would like to know, I am a huge fan of Kontakt but I am very open to new possibilities. Thanks.

Kontakt doesn't have the Granular capabilities which is one of the strong Alchemy features. Although Kontakt does have time stretching, the available modes sound bad/unusable at extreme settings. With the new TM Pro in K5 it's gotten a bit better, but there is no comparison really and many users still use K4.
Alchemy's MSEGs and Sequencers are far superior to anything available in Kontakt, even with extended scripting.
Kontakt does not have any resynthesis, nor does it have a synth engine as such.
Kontakt does not have a Ring Modulator either. And it does not have a Remix Pad where 8 variations per preset can be made available.
Scripting something in Kontakt comparable to what I setup for these patches would be extremely time consuming and often not possible at all.
Altogether for me Alchemy's modulation matrix is unique offering the user so many ways to interact with the sound, rather than just triggering samples, adding a few effects and tweaking some filters.
But...Kontakt offers high Interpolation modes which reduce aliasing, in that respect it is superior to Alchemy and also you can do scripting things for e.g. legato articulations and such that Alchemy does not offer.

Hope that helps...

Here is the first demo for a patch with bowed Guitar samples - also some resynthed sources in the very high range...some notes sound like flutes - quite beautiful...
