SamplesLoops AudioThing releases Soundscapes Vol.1 (Kontakt/WAVs) *Update*

AudioThing is happy to announce the release of Soundscapes Vol.1!

Soundscapes, textures and ambiences ready to use as Kontakt instruments or WAV loops. These sounds are divided in two main categories as the source materials: concrete and gear. The raw concrete samples were recorded in different places across Europe (Paris, Dublin, London and Naples) using studio or handy equipment. The raw gear samples were recorded from hardware synthesizers like a Custom Eurorack Modular Synth, guitar pedals and noisy toys like a Thingamagoop 2. Everything was then processed and boxed inside a Kontakt instrument with a custom performance view. The pitch bend is assigned to a ±24 pitch transpose, good for glitch effects. All samples are perfect loops, so if you don't have Kontakt you can load them directly.

- Price: $10
- 30 Kontakt Instruments (.nki)
- 10 Kontakt Multis (.nkm)
- 31 Samples (48Khz / 24Bit)
- Size: 110 MB installed
- Formats: Kontakt and WAV (loops)
- Custom performance view
- Native Instruments Kontakt 3.5+ full retail version is required

Photos of some of the things/places sampled: a bowed ride, an escalator inside the Guinness Storehouse® in Dublin, an usb fan, an analogue modular synth, inside Notre Dame de Paris, rain under an umbrella in Paris, a Thingamagoop 2, an old cheap and broken violin.

For more informations about the samples/instruments, please download the documentation: http://www.audiothing.net/docs/Audio...apes_Vol.1.pdf

Sounds pretty cool, i personally like the fact wavs are loop-shaped for being used within any sampler or DAW.

I have Kontakt but I'm curious and don't understand this thing, what does it means that samples are perfect loops? For example, in a project without using Kontakt I can load them and loop them to get the "soundscape"? So why making Kontakt instruments?

Yes, basically you can load each sample inside your DAW (or whatever) and you can loop it without clicks or pops.
Why Kontakt Instruments? Well, because you can even play tuned chords with some NKIs and you can easily alter the pitch (= speed) of the sample by playing different notes. There are FXs and Envelope controls in the GUI of each instrument too. So you have much more control over the single sample, but of course you can do whatever you want with the raw sample itself.

Ok I see thanks for the reply, I don't like the internal effects of Kontakt but I see the point. One more question, how long are the raw samples?
(Sorry to bother but I like to stalk developers before buying )

No problem in "stalking". The average length is 14 seconds for concrete samples and 8 seconds for gear samples.

* If you bought Soundscapes Vol.1 before 25 May 2012 you can update it downloading this file: AudioThing_Soundscapes_Vol.1_Update.zip *

The update affects the instruments files (.nki) only, not the samples. We changed the behavior of the knobs with the new system we are using for the upcoming Soundscapes Vol.2, along with few general tweaks. Nothing big or critical. Your previous projects should load fine with the updated files.

Instructions: To update Soundscapes Vol.1 you need to overwrite the old Instruments folder, from the path where you previously installed Soundscape Vol.1, with the new one inside the update zip.

For help or any question, feel free to mail us.
