Thanks fradoca ;-) Wrote them and got a nearly immediate response on 2.0 upgrades (I had been running it on Mac using PC version and 'Crossover'). Native OSX code, excellent new tools, generous upgrade pricing, and great support makes this overall fantastic news :D

Testing Mac version this morning...so far absolutely rock solid. Really liking the new features, especially the 'filter segments' concept...different filter design for different song sections. Along with the built-in loudness compensation, so far sounds seamless while providing unique solutions for different sections of a track. Look forward to getting more into the 'Air' and 'Dynamics', both look to be clever approaches to common situations. The new 'Introduction' and 'Tutorial' sections of 3.0 manual are also quite well done. All-in-all, a VERY useful tool IMHO and most welcome as a native Mac app ;-) |

Why is the demo in the video analyzing 3 songs covered by one continuous song as the video soundtrack?? ![]() This is bizarre... |

| I wrote support email address directly last night, received a coupon to be applied to regular purchase of 3.0 on their site. Here is a quote from their forum concerning emails going out: "On the upgrade price, no, it's not $60 euros, more like $20 or so. The deal is that you purchase through the normal link that quotes a price of $175 but you obtain a discount by providing a coupon that we supply you for the purchase. A coupon to the value of $145.05. That is the easiest way for us to implement discounted upgrades through the eSellerate distributor. Because I've got over 4000 registered customers to email I'm not about to do it manually so I'm in the process of building a email merge script to mail everyone with instructions on how to upgrade for said price. I've done a few manual sends just to make sure the sales system is working correctly. I should have the script completed and tested tomorrow, so you should expect upgrade notifications by then. If you don't receive one after 48 hours it will most likely be because we don't have a valid email address for you, in which case, you should contact us about the upgrade, but please wait 48 hours before doing so.) cheers, Paavo." and: "To all, the upgrade notices have now been sent out. If you don't receive an upgrade email or can't get the discount coupon then contact us about it (through the support email address please)." That was from Monday, Dec 26th. | I wondered the same thing...maybe out of respect/requirement of copyright of music being analyzed? Still a good jump start to watch for procedure as Har-Bal is very visually based in it's approach to corrections.

| My recall is they issue a 'temporary' license, allowing you to try program for 30 days after purchase, then deciding whether to get a refund at that 30 day point (or sooner) or accepting 'full' license. That was how it was done when I got v2. Sounds different but over that time I developed quite a sense of trust in my dealings with them and sure enough got an automated email 30 days after to verify if I wanted to keep it or get my money back. Can't say for sure that is how they do it still but maybe check the FAQ and license pages? I found most my own answers there ;-) |

The video does not show the real audio so it's impossible to evaluate it without hearing the real audio...!

Don't listen to the haters. If you invest in understanding its workings you will be rewarded. It is an amazing piece of software. Sent from my GT-I9001 using Gearslutz.com

| Can't speak for the other humorists, personally I do not like nor dislike Har-Bal simply because I haven't even tried it yet, I was just having a little fun with the plugin's name. Actually, when I first saw the announcement, I thought it read "hair ball". Happy New Year everybody! ![]() ![]() Cheers, Jack |

I bought this way back when... when I was on PC.. it's a great tool.. Now that I moved on to Mac... I just bought the upgrade for 29.95... Working great on the MAC. A guy sent me a mix today to test it out.... I sent him a Har Bal version , with a touch of the dynamics , and Air, and some EQ tweeking on the mid and sides... The guy was really happy with what I did to the track... Har Bal is really a simple tool to use to get results FAST .. Definitely recommended for studios with monitors that don't go down past 60 hz or so, in order to check low end visually.

Been using Harbal for final adjustments on a Mac with Crossover or Wine for a while now. Fantastically useful for tweaks. Will upgrade to the Mac version - Great news.

| If you didn't get the upgrade email with $145 coupon link by now, write support ;-) Though it did work well with Crossover (my previous situation as well), it is great having it as native and the new 'Air' and 'Dynamics' are nice additions, again unique approaches to audio problem solving.

(in a valley girl voice)..."har-blah, whatever!" i tried to find a trial/demo. when it appeared that there wasn't one, i clicked to leave a message with customer service. after writing out a couple of questions i pressed send. no dice. i was prompted to download some kind of app that enables communication with customer service. no thanks. |

I use Harbal all the time, for mastering and for diagnosing mix problems or fixing instrument tracks that were badly recorded, just load a decent reference file and you can turn an unusable direct acoustic guitar into one that sounds like it was recorded immaculately! It works like a charm! The update to 3 is a big improvement too!
