We're working with a Cuban producer now on a really great latin pack!

We also have some great SSD4 updates coming soon.

So by now most of you have been using this new instrument for a while.. so what's everyone's favorite kits? Can anyone post some links to some music?

Cheers,
Steven

i pretty much use Indie 1 or rock kit 11. But i run everything to its own channel in my DAW then limit and compress it and EQ everything, and air reverb the snare and a little hi hat.

I find the Room mic need a low cut. it makes the kits muddy. In saying that i have to try and copy my studio drum sounds so everything is similar for what i do. My plan is... to draw up midi using trigger then use all the sample sounds from Indie kit 1 with live cymbols from my studio tracks. then i can use the straight indie kit 1 for the pure midi songs. Again a little challenge with the muddy room mic for the pure midi. All my live cymbols have low cuts. its my prefered sound i guess.

Did i just bable?

Great!

Please make it compatible with Roland's Handsonic series (e.g. http://www.rolandus.com/products/pro...?ProductId=199). I've recorded a couple of percussionists who own it and it's a pain to set it up because there aren't dedicated libraries/maps for it (they had to create their own and it's never been "perfect").

Thanks! And thank Steven too! I find his samples don't require a ton of processing, they're kind of already in a sweet spot, I just comp slightly and bump it up around 50Hz and we're off to Rockland!

I installed the latest version a bit over a week ago. installation went fine. I can see the plugs in the ProTools and AU folders and I copied the license into the folder as instructed. when I ran DP 7 it validated the plugs and when I start PT I can see that the plugs are found. however when I create an instrument track in PT I can't find the plugins. in DP the plugin loads, but I can't click on anything. anyone have any suggestions?

FWIW I did a ticket and a week later I got a response that said they did have some issues with DP, but PT was fine. they asked if I had the latest version of the plugs, and I replies in the affirmative. I have all the Slate stuff and this is the first one I have had any issue with. right now I am sitting on a "virtual boat anchor."

[sigh]

im not sure exactly what your prob with pro tools is but im getting you cant see the plug in when you go to open it in your instrument track. I make a stereo audio track in por tools and its under instruments. Your track has to be stereo.

hope that helps.

Yeah that kick is huge. It's really loud in the mix to almost be distracting. Cool track though.

Hi Steven,

Since we have different mics setups for Deluxe and Classic kits, how are we going to save our routing in this future update you're working on? Mixer channels are created when we load kits or instruments and there is no way to create "empty" channels to save a default template with no kit or instruments loaded. I'd just like to create a default template with X amount of channels, all routed to different tracks in my DAW (these tracks will be included in the default template, of course), but with no kit or instrument loaded. This way I could load my template and THEN load a kit or instruments. How's SSD4 supposed to know which channels it'll use when loading a kit or instruments under these circumstances?

, thanks man, I got a little carried away with the 50Hz eq thing... Give me a few more weeks with mixing them to get the hang of it, they're radically different in my opinion than the 3.5 drums were, in a really good way. I really like how I am getting the hi hats to pump with the compressor on the offbeats, I wasn't getting that effect with the room and overheads in 3.5, must be something in the harmonic content. I liked the drums in 3.5, but this is a whole new level, I can't believe how much better they sound.

I have a pretty narrow window of focus for using programmed drums so I figure the EX will get me by, but I'm wondering if I shouldn't step up to platinum to see what's offered there... GAS.

Its a great all around natural rock kit, agreed! There are some other really nice gems in the Deluxe Rock presets in Platinum, hope you try em out soon.

Serge figured out something similar to what you're saying, we'll have something soon. You'll also be able to easily activate and deactivate the "save mixer routing".

Platinum adds some really nice kits! We'll have the EX 4.0 to Plat 4.0 available Monday.

Cheers

Thanks guys! The kit is a custom I made with "Ringy Hit Kit" as the base. I think I added Kick 4 and Jimmy Snare to it as well.

Guitars were all done with LePou's LeXTC, and the tried and true GuitarHack impulses.

Bass is a blend of DI, and a duplicate that I crunched up and put the Gallien Krueger amp sim onto (Audiffex not Amplitube).

Hello guys,
I thought the crossgrade deal only works till 1st feb, i just tried and got a coupon! So i jumped into the boat, and bought the crossgrade for Platinum after using Ezdrummer and AD for a while, and i didn't regret it. The quality of the snares and bass are outstanding.
The only thing i missed are the maps. I read in this thread that they are coming with the next update. It's been a while since that statement though. When can we expect it? This came 2 weeks ago:

Steven
Meanwhile, did anybody made any user map already for Addictive Drums or Superior which i can use alongside with EZplayer? edit: okay, i found out that custom mapping will only works for one kit- guess i have to wait for that 'save map as default'-feature
And about the latin pack Steven announced, will it be a free update, or a seperate one? And what about the grooves, how many of them will come?

Sorry, question over questions. I'm already quite happy with it though. Running stable here with 1.0.7 and S1 Pro 2.
