I daresay it will be as successful as his other stuff - but then I didn't buy the vcc because they didn't answer my question which I submitted. I hope the customer support has improved.

Wow those download speeds suck, but I guess I can understand the situation.

Nevertheless, I'm gonna ask IT what we can do to improve it. I know the server we have is already pretty badass, but I'll find out how we can make it badasserer.

Cheers,
Steven

I wont be able to buy this until next year. If someone with roland vdrums could do a review and let me know how the hihats are, especially with a vh11 or vh12.

This sounds killer, cant wait for it

Steven!

I'm on an OS X Tiger workstation PT 7 and DP 6. I have just about every plug imaginable and this rig does exactly what I need for my commercial work... so my question is - will SSD 4.0 support OS X Tiger?

I mean I need another drum program like I need a hole in the head... but SSD 4.0 looks totally intriguing... and like many others, I've never been a fan of working with drums in Kontakt (loves me a dedicated drum player)... though I know some have a great knack for it and get the Kontakt to do exactly what they need... not me. My deadlines are pretty quick so I just go with SD2 or Addictive Drums. Would luuuuuuv to be able to use my groovy Slate drum samples more often.

And it would also be GREAT if SSD 4.0 had a Map Wrap feature similar to SD2 and AD... but something more comprehensive as I have a bazillion MIDI drums files I've purchased (and also created myself) over the last couple of decades. I'd love to be able to just load 'em up and call up anything from a GM map to a specific EZX/SDX map or Addictive Drums map.

Shoot, I'd even pay 19 or 29 bucks for an importable set of maps to all the groovy MIDI out there (SD2, AD, DrumCore, BFD, etc)! I mean I love the way you can import all the drum names into the current version of Reaper.

Wow... I was just gonna post a quick note... sorry for the epic.

OK bud... sorry if all of this has already been covered.

BTW - You don't know me/remember me... but you've always been nothing but a class act when it came to my customer service needs. So thanks for that... God bless... have a great holiday and a bangin' 2012.

Best,
James

To my knowledge, Steven Slate Drums is a separate entity/company from Slate Digital. Separate Websites, separate marketing schemes, etc.....even though its run/operated/owned by the same team. But its separate from Slate Digital.

The coupon sent out was only for Slate Digital products.

Thats the way i understood it anyways......I may be wrong.

Hi James, thanks so much. Unfortunately the new SSD4 isn't compatible with 10.4.. you're such a nice guy that it makes me feel awful to say that. We're putting up the system requirements rightn now, as the website was a bit rushed for the prerelease. I hope that you will keep us in mind when you eventually upgrade the OS.

Ok, so we made a few tweaks to the server and now I'm getting 900kps from my office.. so if you have a fast connection, this should be ok.

Regarding Slate Digital Coupon, as some have said, SSD4 is a product from Yellow Matter Entertainment, a company I also run, but one that is on completely different books etc.. so coupons from one company don't apply to another.. yet. In the future, this could change.

As for license.. the license system takes about 3 minutes to generate.. but when its having to do 50 to 100 per minute, it adds up. So we're tweaking it. Sorry about the delay on it, should catch up soon.

Cheers,
Steven

Ok, consider me a whiner, but this is wrong.

$249 (SS3 Platinum) + $150 (SSD4 upgrade) = $399

VS

$29 (EZdrummer) + $150 (SSD4 upgrade) = $179.

Seems like being a "valued" SSD customer is not the best investment when it comes to get cheap upgrades. Better of with a competitor. Well, well.

There are thousands of EZ drummer users who paid $150 and who have EZ expansions and are just as heavily invested in the program... furthermore.. since you're quoting EZ drummer on sale, you can say that somone could have gotten SSD 3.5 EX for $20 when it was on sale then upgraded to Plat when it was on sale for $99 so that's pretty slammin to get an upgrade for only $149.

I'd hope you would think that we are trying to be as fair and reasonable as possible with this upgrade and crossgrade.

Thanks,
Steven

WTF is yellow matter....
Everything about SSD4 says slate digital.
I still think this sucks.
And this from a loyal customer.

That was a limited time sale, you can't find ezd for that price now… it's not a reasonable comparison you're making

Jeez, if people aren't complaining about how long it is taking to SIT INSIDE AND GET DRUM SOUNDS SENT TO THEM then they are complaining about cost. Quit whining already.

To quote from the mail about the coupon:

"Or, hang on to the coupon to use it for the next generation of Slate
plugins coming soon!"

the coupon doesn't expire afaik.. and who knows what new goodies the Slate team are cooking up?
