New Moog Synth!! NAMM 2012

To be unveiled at NAMM which takes place Jan 19-22.

I know this because they are running a contest right now that states the winner gets that new synth! In the copy it states:

"5) The entry with the most Facebook “likes” by Dec. 20, 2011 will be featured in our holiday video, and the Entrant will WIN SOMETHING AWESOME. (like, the instrument we debut at NAMM 2012 awesome)"

More info here:
2011 ANIMOOG HOLIDAY SONG CONTEST: WIN MOOG'S NEXT INSTRUMENT | Moog Music Inc

EDIT:
Thanks to everyone who voted for me. I didn't win. But I did get an honourable mention and a t-shirt. Just a fun little track I put together in a few hours. Feel free to listen should you feel so inclined.

thanks!

I'm very excited to see what this synth is. My prediction is one of two things.

1. a polyphonic synth synth that is an analog/digital hybrid
2. one of those super cheap monophonic analog synths around $70 - $200 that everyone is buying up these days. The one with the ribbon.

My guess is a polyphonic based on the phatty, would be the logical
Step.

How do we even know its hardware?
I'm guessing it's animoog in RTAS/AU/VST format.

The 300 pound guerrilla in the room though is that Moog died when Bob Moog died... the new stuff is passable but just, IMO.

I hope you're correct. I love the Animoog but it's impractical (though fun) on the iPad.

Which post-Bob products are you referring to exactly?

I would love a low cost high feature poly, a six voice 2 DCO synth would be decent and could become very popular.

All of them? Well, all of them I've tried, anyway. The moogerfoogers, the voyager old school, the little phatty stage II, passable but not exciting. Well, not to me, anyway.

I don't find the Moogerfoogers to be an exciting concept in general but that has nothing to do with Bob. Unless the Voyager Old School's sound engine is different than the Voyager Blue (which I have) then it's a great box and certainly worthy of Bob's approval. I haven't played one so I don't know, but the websites project that it's a true Voyager. Is it a new platform? That would be especially odd for a product called "Old School."

The Animoog is a different beast. If you haven't tried it you should. It's pretty cool and I'd be early in line if it were ever available within ProTools.

I'll check it out, thanks for the tip. As for the new Moog stuff in general though, it just sounds too sterile and predictable to my ears. Give me my memorymoog, source, and model D anytime...!

I think they reached the apex of what can be done with their analog circuits long ago, so they're certainly predictable. I don't know about sterile though.

This is why it's a good time for them to start pursuing the digital realm a bit deeper.

Or a bassguitar ... it doesn't really say synth. A poly synth would of course be nice, but I won't see it happen, unless it's $4000. And they certainly wouldn't give that polysynth away in a Facebook contest.

Animoog for AU/VST would be most welcome here.

It will be either a cheap i-Whatever or something I can't afford.

Anyways, yah I think either cheap montribe type synth, another iPad app, or a polyphonic digital/analog synth. It makes sense for them to start going digital while retaining some analog feel. similar to where DSI went. It's cheaper and still damn good.

I think Animoog for VST will happen. it just makes to much sense. then the iPad becomes a great controller for it and its more seamlessly integrated while still being available for live recordings. I don't think thats what they are announcing this time around though... as its not technically a "new" synth.

I'm on my knees right now praying for a new Moog poly, done right, and some cash to pay for one!

Praying hard man!

This would be great! Especially if you could control the AU with your iPad, and sync everything also
