Thanks! I need to get back to the MailChimp work today, to send out the update info to all users. Non-Valhalla things came up in the last week, that required almost all of my attention.

Experiment with Solo Violin (VSL extended) sent to a Bus with VRoom (Narcissus - 9 seconds) first and then straight into ÜberMod on the same Bus (50% wet). I was actually only checking some non-vibrato and vibrato transition samples for another thread on KVR but then I had to do something with it.

Exceptional sounds and presets for VIs and FX
I love the chorus effects on guitar as well. The Dimchorus2 and Dimchorus8 presets are great starting points for wide stereo and subtle chorusing (if you want) that make a lead track stand out.
i was set on getting the new le masque delay by xils but man im demoing this and in can do some really nice thingsss, i dont know what to do now!
imho : Totally different units. What can do one, the other can't.
They might compliment each other well. I'd recommend people to test both and see wich one fits the more their needs, or eventually : Get both ( yes I know wallet is not extendable )

At this price point, it seems to me like a no brainer anyway. A lot of people spent way more for other software

Not yet. Still working out MailChimp things, plus recovering from the non-Valhalla stuff that flared up last week. Send me a PM or email, and I can send you the beta.
I really need to just send this out to everyone, as it is good to go, but I need to do so in a way that won't end up getting my IP flagged for spam (this started happening with VRoom email updates).
- Already owns VRoom, but not ÜberMod
- Is running Lion
If you fit those criteria, and would like to beta test the new version of ÜberMod (and be a bit of a guinea pig), drop me a note - PM or email. I need to see if there are any weird anomalies going on with Lion and my installer.
ValhallaÜberMod Version 1.0.1 is now officially released.
ValhallaÜberMod has been updated to version 1.0.1:
The changes:
New control, WARP InputPan. This allows the user to reverse the input stereo image, sum to mono, or send to the left or right input channels only. The InputPan control can be used with WARP fbMix to create standard ping pong delays, as well as ping ponged multitap delays, ping-pong reverbs, tape delays that oscillate back and forth, and so on.
New factory preset groups: DoubleTracking, PingPong, StereoEnhancers
Fixed bug with 32-bit VST, where incorrect MODE names were displayed for some settings
Fixed mono->stereo bypass bug in RTAS
I've sent out an email with update links to all of the ÜberMod customers, and posted new demo versions at
If anyone has any preset requests for the new ping pong features, let me know. I'll be working on blog posts in the next week, finishing the documentation and adding examples.
In the first release of ÜberMod, changing the Mode would result in the delay lines being cleared. I had put this in to fix some bug, but it turns out the bug was caused by something else I fixed before the first release. I removed the delay clearing in the 1.0.1 update, which means that changing modes will result in a "slewing" of the delay taps to the new positions, at a rate determined by the WARP Smoothing time.
This behavior is close enough to "morphing" that I would use that term, if I woke up and found out that I had been sent in a time machine back to 1997. Come to think of it, I think I actually owned a Lexicon Vortex back in 1997. It currently sits in storage, so I guess I wasn't all that enamored with the Vortex.
Having said that, the slewed delay tap transitions when switching modes in ÜberMod make things closer to tape echos. Although the tape echo would have to be able to switch from 2 tape heads to 32 tape heads, and have all the tape heads slide into their correct positions. I guess the digital world has its advantages.

Really like that sample. Nice creepy feeling to it.
Funny, I was looking for a room sound for some Zeppelinesque riffy guitars. Ya know what sounded as good as Vroom in this application?
Ubermod! Totally different but just as applicable.
Sean your plugs are eating themselves.

This happens. If my plugins tend towards anything, it is "reverby."
For a short room ambiance, you only need a few reflections. A little bit of short diffusion can be useful, but mainly to smear the phase of the reflections - too much or too long of diffusion, and you can get ringing. I just threw together this preset:
8 Taps, a touch of diffusion (with the Diff Size at the shortest setting), no modulation whatsoever, no feedback. The TAP Spread is set to maximum, TAP Skew to -100% (to stagger taps left/right, starting with the left), TAP Slope to 40% (to produce taps that decay in volume) and TAP Random at 100% (to eliminate metallic comb filtering). Try playing with the DELAY slider to change the size of the virtual room and control how wide the stereo image is. Turning up the DEPTH slider is useful for creating a "wetter" ambiance, that might sit better in some mixes.

Just tried the preset. Excellent! I'm going to use it instead.
this plug is really strong, but I am happy to have as many presets as possible as it makes working faster, especially with that many possibilities I get lost and can't decide anymore. Presets are therefore very helpful starting points go achieve fast results

I have to agree. Ubermod is soooo deep and I don't have time to explore and create, so the strong presets are excellent starting points.

Documentation would help as well. I hate writing documentation. I actually hate writing in general, as far as sitting down and writing something in a non-conversational tone. Still, ÜberMod is deep, and as much as I've tried to put documentation into the tooltip area, it needs a manual.
I need to write up a description of the preset menu next, and then a few posts about "what is ÜberMod" and "WHY ÜberMod." After that, I'll put everything into a PDF, and ba-da-bing, ba-da-boom, there's your manual right there! Tips and Tricks will be posted as needed.
My wife put together a document for all the ValhallaRoom posts, as well. I'll review that in the next few days, and post that as a PDF manual.
