Interesting, thanks.

Too bad: "Supports RTAS, Audio Units (AU), VST and MAS for Mac. AAX for Mac available December 14. Windows not supported."

Well, I just read the manual, and it's something to test.

The fact that it offers lot of bands, 9 types of bells, and last but not least, an "analog stage" makes me confident that it could end up to be a nice sounding surprise and not "another standard EQ".

I'd be curious to hear the different analog models at work for mastering applications !

That said, no Windows VST version ? That's bad...

On a side note, the ability to hide the graph would be welcomed IMHO.

Yeah haha! It's ridiculous when people complain about a few products that are only available to mac,
while there's 100's of products available for windows only! I'm talking of at least 85/15, ok?

OK, 15 posts already since the OP and all I have learned is that there are unhappy feelings because apparently there are too many EQs already and because it is Mac only. And the dreaded "too expensive" argument hasn't even showed up yet.

I hope people will chime who actually tried the plugin and give their opinion about the quality, compare it to other EQs, etc. That's what I would like to read. In case you ask, why don't you try it yourself, I will in due time and I shall report back.

OT but in case you see this, Massey's plugs run just fine on Windows. I've spent a lot of time with L2007 and TapeHead in both XP and 7.

It's too expensive. Meaning I have to actually spend money on it. If I'm to get my advice from only GS it would be this:

I'd like my EQ to be free, run on my BANGIN' Sonar X1 system (yeah bro!), and sound like everything else. That's how I make my incredible late 90's wannabie sounding alt. rock records that will probably just sit around collecting dust in my converted basement/studio/man-cave. Anything else is a waste of time.

Sweeeeeet!

Personally I think this DUY eq has some cool stuff going for it, I might demo it and see if it's a useful tool.

Software DUY Deep Analog EQ

Well despite the claims and heck everybody has them, who knows it may be a good EQ. But at least for me DUY has lost credibility long ago. Not so much for there products but their support of said products. If I were to award a developer with the most inconsistent support and erratic response it would be DUY. I don't even bother with trying their products anymore for that reason. For me they have become anachronistic. They are their own worst enemy.
YMMV.

Not another "Deep Analog..." To me it all sounds like "Organic Pesticides" or "Holistically Poisonous".

It is digital EQ in the ocean of so many other digital EQs. I think companies should stop shameless milking of marketing with the word "analog" in it.

I worked with products from DUY and( in my experience) was getting much more analog results by removing them from my productions.

What is the split between mastering guys using windows/OSX? Any mastering houses I've been to that used one or the other seemed to be running Wavelab on a windows machine. Now that Wavelab is on OSX, is that percentage changing?

Well, I played with the demo for a couple of hours and really like what the different analog modes add to the overall signal. I am not sure yet whether it will replace the Steinberg/Yamaha EQ 601, which currently is my favorite EQ plugin. Difficult to describe the difference, but I have the impression that the EQ 601 has a tad more body, especially in the low end. Will do more testing...
