I would otherwise PM, but maybe others will be interested.

1) I have a pretty sweet mounting solution with my Omnimounts. Any chance an Omnimount compatible mounting plate can be built into the bottom/back/both/somewhere?

2) will it be kinda easy to demo in Toronto? Or even Canada?

These sound damn promising... very interested...

I can check with Chris re: the Omnimounts....but I don't see why not - IIRC, Omnimount has products that will handle that weight.

Omnimounts require either:
a) drilling, tapping, and screwing into a "not pre-prepared" box, or
b) attaching to some sort of pre-installed mounting plate

If these cabinets are MDF as most cabs are, drilling and tapping and putting some sort of plug that will hold that poundage is a pain, and potentially inviting catastrophe if the screws pull out or something, never mind maybe "unsealing" the sealed compartment in the box.

Omnimounts certainly WILL hold the speakers, but I was more wondering if "whoever is building the cabinets" would be able to incorporate a mounting plate built in to the box, even if there was a surcharge. My LSR4328's have them, both on the bottom and the back.

At least that way, if they pull out, I can blame the manufacturer and not my poor (at best) woodworking skills.

For example, I have been in touch with ATC about their SCM20SL, and they said they would be able to do it in their passive model if I asked.

Others have said that they couldn't be bothered... so they're out of the running.

Hence the curiousity.

Cheers!

Still a great price if it's as good as is being made out to be.
Have no reason to believe it wont't be either.
BTW do you have an Asian dealer? Japanese to be precise.

Sounds entirely reasonable. The cabinets are built here in the US, so I imagine it's likely that they could do that for you. My guess is there'll be a surcharge though...and it might be a case where it's best price wise if you supply the plate, and our guys attach it for you.

PM me, if you'd like. I'll be glad to try to get that to happen for you.

We do have a Japanese distributor. Not sure where they are with the 4288, but I'll check it out.

Hi,

It seems this speakers are THE revelation for everybody that walked around the AES this year !

I'm really interested un buying a system and sale some to my clients if possible. I know it's Jukebox that is in charge of distribution for France. When do you think they will be in stock for us ?

Thank you
Olivier

Some of our established distributors already have commitments to other speaker lines, so we are investigating a few options to make these available to anyone worldwide regardless of whether there is a distribution network set up in their country.

We hope to have something in place by the end of this year.

There's only two pairs out there at the moment - the one I have, and the one Chris has.

I believe that will begin to change this week, though....

I'm willing to bet that he is using the OEM version of MiniDSP. And the Model 42 is using this amp. The Model 42 is actually my design... I simply cannot understand how Mr. Pelonis stole it from me, because I have never discussed it with anyone! I was going to use the same amp and DSP and angle the cabinet... but because Tannoy will not sell to me, my design involved another dual concentric driver...

I'm only half kidding. If I had shared my design with even one person, I would have been willing to swear that it was stolen from me...

Mr. Pelonis... if you really do have the potential to get into people's minds and steal their ideas without ever meeting them, I think you should use it to eradicate global hunger and war. Building studios and speakers is too menial a job for one with such capabilities.

Hardware

The previous comment from audiothings is too hard. I think that Mr Pelonis could put some lights in that respect, will be interesting to have more info about the amplifier design into the 4288.

By the way very interesting links

You probably shouldn't place that bet, as neither the amp nor the DSP you selected are used in the Model 42.

Chris says to tell you that he's flattered that you like his design, he got a good chuckle from your post, he's working on healing the world....and nice try on the amp and DSP.

I don't think any designer is obliged to reveal the inner workings of proprietary designs into the public domain, for random jokers to easily reverse engineer.

ducking for cover and exiting the room slyly

convey my regards to mr. pelonis... huge fan of his designs here...

Yes, they're really finished and tested. We had to decide on, then wait for packaging...now, we have a small issue with the interconnect cables that are supposed to be included in the electronics package.

If everything goes according to plan, the first sets will go out this week.

I hope so, because I am interested as I guess many others, but the delays in a new product put doubt in the potential buyers, specially in the first ones, as you know the first buyers are the one that suffer all the potential problems of the first batch if there is any corrections to make.

We know that only too well. As a matter of fact, that's exactly what's responsible for the delays - we want everything to be exactly right when the first ones go out.

I just bought a pair without hearing them. Wondered why they were taking so long to get here. I now have my answer. Was in the market for new speakers when I heard about the model 42s and these. Shot in the dark. Keep your fingers crossed.

Picked mine up last Friday - Bryce, thanks for your help with the software, they’re incredible! The strangest thing happened; my landlord came by to make some repairs as I was testing my 4288s. Without my saying anything about my new purchase or what I was up to, he insisted on knowing who made my monitors, he went on and on about how great they sounded and wouldn’t shut up. Today he texted me asking again where he could get a pair, I tried to tell him what studio monitors are used for but it didn’t matter.
