In the pool if you select the tracks tab it will display the audio ordered by track. Any audio that is not used by any track is in the top entry called "unused". Click the little arrow to display the audio as a list then multi select them and right click to delete permanently...
On another issue I'm having how do you route the output of an fx channel into the input of another fx channel? I want to place the output of my delay into the input of a reverb so the delay is reverbed.
I think this will be an FX Chain, 9.2.21 of the manual. Guessing this will do the processing in series.

I have been pounding the demo for the last couple of days again and I do like this program, one question I have is about changing the sample rate, I find I can change the sample rate and all the audio stays in sync really well, this opens up some interesting possibilities, does anyone else find this usefull?

Been having great success with S1 version 2. I've started to use the Pro-EQ instead of my older plug-ins, seems a bit smoother somehow, I like the spectrum meter that can be displayed with it and it's not a far cry layout wise from Sonnox EQ which is what I normally use. Use wise I think the Pro-EQ sounds great, smoother and less obvious than the Sonnox - am I talking bollocks? Is my hearing going? Anyone else like the Pro-EQ?

I like the sound of their other included plugins as well. Recently mixed a couple recorded rehearsals using nothing but their plugs and was very impressed with the results. I hate to say it, but I use my UAD laptop solo card less and less these days!

The EQ is the only one I've tried so far, I just found it faster to find and fix problems partly because of the included spectrum meter and since the interface is so similar to the Sonnox it was easy to switch to. The Sonnox does sound a bit rougher when I A/B'd it with the S1 EQ, same settings resulted in slightly better and smoother results with S1 EQ, Sonnox was more obvious, grittier, broader somehow.
I like the "High quality" button on the EQ, why wouldn't you use that? |

I have nothing to say but good things for Presonus Studio One v2. I have upgraded to the pro version and its done nothing but save me time and energy. Very easy to use and intuitive. There's a few quirks with the Transform to Audio function but what DAW doesn't have its quirks... I found a work around using a similar function called FX render and it does it without issue everytime. Love it. (I was a previous Sonar user)
One of my favorite things about v2 is that it finally has an IR loader and works great with you are using guitar rig to add realism to the sound

I'm 3 or so months in with v2 Pro and I have to say that I would never go back to Logic. With the Edit window on a 2nd monitor, I never need zoom in / out again and the Render FX option allows me to really pile on the plug-ins without worrying about bounces / recalling old copies of sessions etc...
In fact, I have no complaints! It feels nicely streamlined, and the lack of clutter makes a huge difference to me. |

I'm a big fan of Studio One. I love working in version 2. But lately crashes and strange bugs I keep uncovering has led me to start some new projects in Pro Tools. PreSonus support hasn't been able to efficiently work through my issues either. It doesnt help that trouble tickets usually take a week and a half to be responded to. Though I much prefer the workflow in Studio One, I'm enjoying the stability, predictability, and graphical interface of Pro Tools again.
I do gotta say though, Studio One is much much more CPU efficient. Pro Tools gets my MBP fans kicking up with barely any tracks. I can do 4 times as much in Studio One before the fans get up this loud.
I'll continue to follow the Studio One upgrades, because I think/hope it'll continue to get better. But for now, Pro Tools will be my default platform again so I don't run into hiccups halfway thru a project. Which is what just happened to me. Fortunately I hadn't gotten very far and I didn't have much more than a few MIDI tracks that were easy enough to export and import back into Pro Tools.

I feel the same way . I have been a PT guy for years . Bought Studio One early on but never bothered to really put it through it's paces till last fall . I quickly saw the value of it over PT if your composing in the box . It is much more cpu efficient and so easy to build a song , chop it up and rearrange etc . Also the 1 window is great . I have PT 10 and S1 ver 2 . Ver 2 is even better with lots of awesome new features but it's so buggy that I have been working on PT 10 more . PT 10 is a better version of PT for sure but still not as efficient as ST 1 ver 2 . And it takes longer to build up a track which is a bit of a pain . When I have a clear idea I don't want a few more steps to slow it's execution . I look forward to an S1 ver 2 update .

One area it really disappoints me is support. Believe me I've had plenty of troubles in Pro Tools over the years, but the userbase is so large and the software is a veteran in the DAW world so it's not often that a Google search or a trip to the DUC forum can't bring you pretty quick help/answers.
The Studio One forum is full of great people, but when it comes down to it, we're all new at this, because it's still a fairly new product. So most times no one on the forum knows any better what going on than i do.
All DAWs have their issues, but the ability to find solutions quickly can make those issues a non-issue.

Is there any way how to use 32bit plugins/instruments in 64bit version of S1V2?

Curious about the FX render function - havent figured out yet how to render send effects without using the export stems function.
Spend now almost half an hour with google to find out what an IR loader is for....no luck , so I'd really appreciate if somebody could enlighten me

I must say, reading DAW manuals is taxing.

The Studio One v2 manual isn't very thorough either.

Anyone used Studio One Pro 2 with Access Virus Ti2 ? and managed to succeed in setting up the VST to use multichannel , routing from VST to 3 midi channels and then adding another 3 audio channels and routing the 3 midi channels to 3 audio channels to get a separate VST effect on each channel.
I managed to do that in Ableton, but still is a mystery in Studio One...when i talked to Customer Support in Presonus, they didn't even know what i'm talking about ?!
the whole idea is routing midi channels to Audio channels...is this possible in studio one or not ?

If I already have Logic Pro, will One open my Logic internal AU plugins (Synth's?)
Ok, you can shoot me now :-).

2.0.5 is here.
About Studio One:
Studio One employs a state-of-the-art audio engine that delivers incredibly clear, accurate sound. Studio One Professional features a 64-bit floating-point version of this audio engine that automatically switches between 64- and 32-bit operation on the fly to accommodate 32-bit plug-ins. This means you always get the highest possible sound quality and blazing speed.
Internally there is no midi. It's better.

Tried Studio One in january but quickly went back to Logic, too many details I was missing. Trying free version now that I got fed up with certain things in Logic and still no news of Logic X.
Yet, it only took a few minutes to start missing some features. Can you see midi note info played from keyboard anywhere? I've really gotten used to seeing note, velocity AND chord. I can only see recieved midi data in a separate window, but can't see even velocity.
I was playing with Presence, but can barely hear anything the way I'm used to playing, need to hammer the keys like no tomorrow. Wonder if it's a case of vel mapping in Presence, but would be nice to actually see what is coming in via midi (well, USB).

Another question. Can someone recommend a good zooming workflow or explain the logic behind it. I'm trying to figure out how to zoom close to automation track and make tweaks. I make a range selection, press Shift-S and it works pretty nice, but when I move around a bit and try to get back to normal view, it goes berserk. After many shift-s's or alt-w's later (I can't figure out how this works) I'm in some totally random and closely zoomed spot with no other way than manually adjusting the view back to normal, is there a way to "reset zoom"?
Shift-S does seem to work if I zoom in, make the tweak and immediately zoom out (shift-s again), but I have no idea what happens if I for example accidentally touch the scroll wheel and move.
Edit. Actually Shift-S does not work properly if I select automation points with Arrow tool. It only works well with range selection.

What's the use of knowing total amount of clips in master output? I'm yet to figure it out. For example if a kick drum clips, it might say 50+ total clips, but I can't figure out how I can use this info?

after many Logic's issues related to OSX10.8 I took a look at S1 and must say it is amazing app with great sound and simplicity. When Presonus offer any crossgrade discounted price I would change...
