Yes they should be. I have a desktop PC and a MBP with bootcamp and Win7 running Samplitude 10.22, so far I haven't had any trouble. I haven't used it that much, since reaper takes it's place as recording software for me, but there really should be no problem. As far as I know a mac using windows is as good as any other pc.

Thanks for the answer on using Samp with Boot Camp.

So in light of that, what's the point of even having a Mac version (and all the requests from Mac users for a Mac version)?

I think it comes down to that old Mac vs. PC debate. There are lots of people in the Mac world that refuse to have anything to do with a PC- even if it is on Mac Hardware. I've worked AES and NAMM shows for Magix and the number of people that come up to us asking if there is a Mac version is staggering. The number of them that would consider bootcamp is amazingly small.

I personally really like Macs, but until Sequoia is reliable on one, I use a PC. Now, my remote rigs have all gone to bootcamped macbook pro laptops. They've been ultra-reliable and I'm very happy with them. When the mac versions hit next year, I'll probably get one, but until then, I'm going to earn my living as I know how- with tools that work regardless of platform.

I've been using Pro X for the last month or so as my self-mastering software for projects created in Reason.

I formally used Reaper in this role, but after a few speed bumps in the newer builds I shelled out the cash and (after heavy recommendations from a trusted friend) am very happy with Samp in this role.

I have not used it for mixing or composition, but in the self-mastering role it does the job well.

Will their be Samplitude X tutorial.

I use samp 10 and 11. One of the most important reason why I keep samplitude is the spectral cleaning. On this new version... I don't understand how to use the spectral cleaning accuratly like in Samp 10. My job is mastering and if I need this spctral cleaning

Hi there,

The original Spectral Editor should still be in Samplitude Pro X. Right click on the audio object and look under Effects (offline) > Restoration.

The new spectral cleaning on the object level is more limited. To activate it you need to click on the spectral view icon. This can be found when using the default workspace. There is an icon at the bottom.

You then need to switch to spectral mouse mode and it's a case of drawing a rectangle around the section you need to clean and pressing ok.

I will make a tutorial when I get the time.

Regards
Kraznet

So bad.... why?

OK found, you need to activate the Spectral cleaning option online

Lots of problems working with 32 Bits plugs. Soundtoys, basically... The only developer that haven't released in 64 that I'm waiting for.

But with Samplitude native effects too (!!!). Crazy.

That has been driving me nuts. Or at least be able to let me drag down and reveal the number of aux sends I want.

I'm taking this on a test run. I'm running Vista 64, Win 7 64 in the near future. The installer installs under Program Files(x86). Is there only one staller? Is 64-bit a mode you can turn on from within the software?

If you look in the Samplitude Pro X folder there should be two Application versions, Sam and Sam x64. Click on Sam x64 to run it.

This program is amazing!!!
I simply love everything about it except I don't know how to hook it up to my 2 behringer BCF2000's. If I can figure that out my ascension out of pro tools will be complete and I can finally be done with it!!!

There is one more thing visible on the pictures that's bugging me.

I don't understand why is it needed to change the resolution of the meters that much. I mean, if the mixer gets smaller, then 1pixel could represent more dB than when the mixer is fullscreen, but why does it sometimes change to a mode, where the meters are not continuous, but made of blocks??
I can't see a shit on such mixer and i couldn't find a way how to choose/switch this manually.
Does anybody know how to do that? Kraznet ?

@kraznet

Hey Sir Kraznet! Quick question was wondering if with the latest update release of Sam Pro X, if it is now possible under Preferences, Vst plugin, to go and assign more then 1 Vstplugin folder path? In other word, To be able like many other DAW now.

Cuz i'd like to assign as well my x86 vstplugin folder inside Sam Pro X x64 bit cuz some plugins I'm using are not yet ported to X64?

Is this now possible cuz I reckon that when Pro X was out, I tried to do so and it was NOT possible and if YES, how can this be DONE?

Thank you in advance

Hi there ,

Sorry for the late reply. The blockiness of the mixer is an occasional problem that I also get with the Camo skin under certain circumstances particlarly when using a laptop. The solution I find is to click the reactangle at the top right and it should reset itself. Failing that switch to the Canis skin and back and see if that works.. I will report it asyou have jogged mny memory.

Cheers

I tend to keep my Vst Plug-ins in one folder and then create 1x32bit and 1x64bit sub folders. I then set the plug-in path to the top most folder:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I then tweak the recursion depth at C:Program Data > Magix Samplitude Pro X > VstPlugIns (configuration). like this:

But I can see that if you have you 32bit vs 64bit plug-in in different places this can be a problem. I will experiment and check with the devs over the next few days.

Cheers
Kraznet

Hello Tim!

Are there any news regarding Samplitude on Mac? As far as I noticed, there wasn't any announcement at MusiMesse. I hope, the project has not stopped

does the new samplitude have editing multiple objects in place on one track? "lanes" or whatever you might call it? The "take composer" has just not been intuitive for me. This is one of the main reasons I often still work in Sonar. Also, is it possible to edit midi in place in the track view?

Thanks.

Nothing has changed in this area I'm afraid. Although the Take Composer does a reasonable job it would benefit from using the more popular and accessible "Lanes" approach.

I think you mean "In-line" Midi editing. This isn't possible yet either although they are aware that this is a much requested feature (from me also).

The main thrust of Pro X was 64bit implementation and the new docking system. Hopfully now this is done they will concentrate on refining/improving/finishing existing features.

thanks. Perhaps I'll skip another version then, as I did between 9 and 11. Sonar strikes me as heading in the wrong direction since Roland acquired Cakewalk, so I'm hoping Samp can do a few of these things to make constructing music in it feel less like I'm at the airport trying to get between two terminals.

I hope Samplitude will follow the same path as Steinberg [eg. Wavelab] and Reaper, which is you get both and you decide what to use. I'm on a MBP when I'm recording in the field and have a desktop PC for my edits and FX work, so I need both platforms, but would never buy two programs, and don't have to ;->
