karloff70's "Slappers&Fluffers" kick drum toolkit

Hi chaps,

I sat down to make myself some kick tools the other day and decided to put them amongst the Slutz as well.....

What we have here is "Slappers", which are transient heavy kick sounds to mark how the kick punches through, lands on or slaps into your mix. From punchy as anything to pillowy stuff, lots of different angles with plenty built in movement.

Then we have "Fluffers", which are tone kicks with either no or very little transient but instead mood to set the tone of how your kick falls into the mix.

The idea being to layer one of each (or more...) for very specific combinations and full control. Between 99 Slappers and 66 Fluffers you end up with over 6500 possible combinations of two. However, most all Slappers and depending on context even the Fluffers are also very happy to be used on their own.

So what you get is a FAT toolkit for nailing the corners for anything from EDM and Hip Hop to modern Dance/Pop, also very useful when doing mixes for people to add that transient to make the kick pop through or give the tone to land the kick properly and nail their mix down if lacking.......

All of these puppies come in 24bit 44.1kHz WAV format, one folder of 99 Slappers, one of 66 Fluffers, ready to be slotted into whichever sampler you prefer to use.

Price is £15 of sweet Sterling and payment/order works very simply like so:

You paypal £15 to arrive at: bc_sass (at) hotmail (dot) com and I take the email address the paypal came from and return a mail with the Slappers&Fluffers attached as a zip file.

As to give you a small taste of some of the vibes at hand, here's a wee trailer, which is me commentating and some completely naked (flat, no fx/eq/comp added) Slappers and Fluffers doing their thing:

Brilliant choice of wording.

Congratulations on your product. I have to admit the idea makes sense 100%, I have been "replacing" stuff on percussion tracks with, say, a piece of hardwood slammed onto the table and the like.

I just had a man called Eric inquire about the email address, as he had spotted that in the first half hour of the thread it was actually bc hyphen sass instead of underscore.

To assure anyone looking, the address is correct ( bc underscore sass at hotmail dot com) and if you paypal to it, slappers will appear in your mailbox.

Very diggable. Great within itself - very useful when tucked into other kick samples as well. Great for giving definition to 808/sinewave kicks.

I'm very happy with my purchase. The trailer gives a good idea of what you're getting.
And I definitely can cosign what Storyville says, the sounds are great for layering but also work on their own.

First of all, this product sounds like a very interesting subgenre of fetishists, which is quite alright by me.

Second, anything with Karloff's name and ideas behind it is most definitely worth having in the toolkit, so don't think, just do the right thing.

Vive le Fluffér!

Easiest way to trigger this product from a session with live drums in Logic 9?

Nice work!

Logic's own slice up and make midi part out of the transients functions + EXS?

Hi Boris,
Big thanks for the samples..!!!
Dropped them straight in the Slate Trigger folder and have spent all morning slapping the fluff out of some old drum takes !!!
lots of fun...
and imagine going to be used a lot...

any chance of the same vibe but for snare ?

Hey, that was quick . Glad you like them!!

Snares, eyh....hmmm.....maybe. Not sure it would work the same though, and I don't really fancy just doing some random snare pack. Maybe.....
