Hi, sorry only paypal I'm afraid. Make a pact with the devil and join up....

On the ebooks topic I'm not sure whether that would work too well, as on drum synthesis there are resources around already I believe and drum production is so context/situation dependent that an ebook isn't the greatest media for it. It would at best turn into a check list type thing with areas/parameters to pay attention to, to make sure they are 'right', 'right' being subjective and also totally situation dependant. Wouldn't turn into anything I'd feel to take any money from people for me thinks.......

Hi

Just made a payment through Paypal and can't wait to try the samples in the studio this weekend. Could anyone please suggest a suitable snaredrum samplepack to go with this one? It doesn't have to be HUGE but a couple of great sounding snaredrums for regular pop/rock and a couple ones more synthetic/electronica sounding.

Sent out, and thank you! Small thought, if you do proper rock, where the kit still wants to feel like one without the full 'polaroid' sample replace sensation on the kick, try putting fluffers on top of the mic kick transient. You'll have the transient changing, but the 'fat' will be consistent. Good compromise for fat but real.

Might knuckle down and do a little snare set soon, just need my desk back from the doctor's. Somewhere between electronica and hip hop sort of thing.

The demo just about dislocated my Focal's woofers, nice work.

Question, are any of your creations...(particularly "fluffers") focused on mellowness; somewhat powerful yet soft/poofy furry. Or is it mainly hard bang bang stuff?

lol....not sure what it all means.....

In my view actually the bigger part of these isn't exactly violent banging, although it has the odd violent one, like the burning 909-ish one in the demo. Plenty mellow ones, especially in the fluffers which are mellow by default by lacking attack, but also many mellow by tone....

How about this: If you are after mellowness, get the pack and if you feel the desired mellowness wasn't delivered I'll refund your paypal...

Yeah that one in the second part of your demo was pretty scary.

Sounds good, sending $$$. I'll scope it for mellowness opportunities...

Just posting back to the thread...it is well thought out, you can use it as a starting place to build custom stuff. For my specific purpose found a couple dozen mellow, pillowy, furry, fuzzy, friendly fluffers. d(^_^)b

I hope my next upcoming (probably big hit) song, using already one of your fluffers, will make ME filthy rich

The layered kick sounds sooo deep with a Pultec

just a quick note for the hardware brigade - these samples are really good, and sound *amazing* coming out of my E-MU E4!

Also, please count me as another vote for a snare sample-pack - pretty please?

Nice to hear the joy!

And funnily enough a snare pack, entitled "Paperskins", is almost done and should be out in the wild by next weekend.

What we have here is "Slappers", which are transient heavy kick sounds to mark how the kick punches through, lands on or slaps into your mix. From punchy as anything to pillowy stuff, lots of different angles with plenty built in movement.

Then we have "Fluffers", which are tone kicks with either no or very little transient but instead mood to set the tone of how your kick falls into the mix.

The idea being to layer one of each (or more...) for very specific combinations and full control. Between 99 Slappers and 66 Fluffers you end up with over 6500 possible combinations of two. However, most all Slappers and depending on context even the Fluffers are also very happy to be used on their own.

So what you get is a FAT toolkit for nailing the corners for anything from EDM and Hip Hop to modern Dance/Pop, also very useful when doing mixes for people to add that transient to make the kick pop through or give the tone to land the kick properly and nail their mix down if lacking.......

All of these puppies come in 24bit 44.1kHz WAV format, one folder of 99 Slappers, one of 66 Fluffers, ready to be slotted into whichever sampler you prefer to use.

Price is £15 of sweet Sterling and payment/order works very simply like so:

You paypal £15 to arrive at: bc_sass (at) hotmail (dot) com and I take the email address the paypal came from and return a mail with the Slappers&Fluffers attached as a zip file.

As to give you a small taste of some of the vibes at hand, here's a wee trailer, which is me commentating and some completely naked (flat, no fx/eq/comp added) Slappers and Fluffers doing their thing:
Cool idea to name the samples like that and offering for a special purpose. Much better than just saying something like kick samples for sale - you got style.

What's the source of those sounds? Analog, digital, real TR-909, some clone, do you have some good ole TR-808 recorded at that quality, too??

I'd like to get my hands on a source that can sound like this when mixed (it sounds like real & raw upfront mixed TR-808 to me - no fooling around with anything else, maybe I'm wrong - but it also sounds like the beat was programmed on it, not just samples used):

Lil Wayne - Lollipop ft. Static - YouTube

I still curse the day I sold mine for twice the price I bought it for, but its value is now four times that... and I would never sell it again for any money.

Anyway - short on petty cash right now, but one day I might need that set...

Just to add - your voice sounds cool, too, a bit retro porn kind of flair, uhm, cool. The demo almost sounds like some avant-garde rap.
You should offer spoken word set with exclamations like, "uh yeah", "ummm, that's hot", "niiiiice", "mmmm, yeah" (and some more creative you could think of) and call it "vocal slappers and fluffers"

It's been ready for a couple of weeks or so, but negotiating its release with a sample house is proving rather sloooooow unfortunately.......

However, regardless through what channels it is going to hit the wild I can say it is a fairly dirty sounding snare kit, all rammed through an Akai S1000 for papery flavour and other sweet hardware boxes. So not as dirty as you'd get into say ramming it into a 950, but papery and crunchy, hence the naming.

The sample kit this time consists of slappers, fluffers and also suckers........

I am trying to progress the release as much as I can, and as soon as it's out there will be a new thread born.

And thank you for your interest!!
