New CLX-VU compressor by...YOU!

New compressor build KIT. Totally sweet recreation of a classic compressor from the '70's. KICK and SNARE compressor. The Bass compressor. Do you know who I am?

This looks extremely cool - is there any way to stereo link 2 of them?

Hello,
There is a way to easily add a stereo link switch, but like the 1176 its going to change the Attack and Release.

To connect the units in stereo you just connect the RMS units' timing capacitors together. That effectively sums the control voltages together. I'm going to outline it more in the build PDF scheduled to be completed in a couple weeks.

Cheers,
Abe

Hi Planet Red yes I can custom build units at pretty reasonable cost. Just send me a message on here or on my site and we can work something out.

StratSvante - Haha! yes prodigy pro is awesome. These are REV 2 and we fixed all the transistor footprints!

I'm just getting all the parts together for the pre order kits, it nice to be in the same room with all these electrical parts. When did I turn into such a nerd? haha!

Anywho thanks for the interest guys,

Abe

What's the total expected build cost once all the parts have been sourced and purchased?

Hello,
Depends on how fancy you want your build but I'd say about 450$

Yes.
Thats a very conservative guess, for a single channel. If you wanted 2 channels parts will probably cost more. Or depending on how you buy your parts it could be cheaper. Just depends.

That doesn't include the many many hours of time you will spend building your unit. Some people enjoy it, some people would rather spend the money to have one built for them then to spend the countless hours!

But if you like building stuff and have time its a great way to save money.

Cheers,

Abe
