No, you aren't the only one. Den did some nice work with those presets, and the BladeRunner one really stands out.

Yeah it's great! Playing live guitar through that preset was what made me buy the plug. Of course now it gets used on all sorts of things.

Just fantastic....

Thanks again Den.

Did I mentioned that I have original sound track CD Blade Runner, and when I was on the Valhallaroom blog. I saw that Sean, mentioned Blade Runner style for one of the algo's. That was really inspiration to create something like that kind of reverb I knew very well from CD. Oh, I said, finally to get that sound without Lexicon hardware. I use it for some film music that needs deep atmosphere just like Vangelis used for Blade Runner.
Glad that you find it useful.
All the best.

I see that people are posting presets for Vroom here on GS.
Can someone tell me how to open these in the plugin? Or do i just read the settings and put them in manually?
I'm using Logic 9.

I'm using Logic 9.
In the browser, select the text of the preset (including the < and > tags at the beginning and end) and hit Copy.

Now, go into the VRoom GUI, and click on the preset name (in the lower right corner). A preset menu will come up. Select "Paste from clipboard."

To save the preset after pasting, just hit "Save as" in the menu, and choose or create the folder the preset should go in.

That preset is daaangerous!! I've lost hours just sitting there playing electric guitar through it . . . watching my mind float off with the 15 second decay . .

Both Den's and Simon Stockhausen's presets are an amazing addition to ValhallaRoom! Thanks so much for sharing guys :]

Be nice to grab all the presets every 3-4 months that you have put your seal of approval on.
+1. Are these presets available in one download, or should I continue looking through all 52 pages of this thread?

It's in the Valhalla Presets that ship with the plugin. In the Preset menu, go to Den->BladeRunner.

People bitching about not having all the presets is kinda funny. Especially with a plugin as easy to use as this. I always prefer to create my own, based on the track/sound in question. Of course they are nice jumping off points, but man, try making your own cool sounds, Room is begging you to do it!

Giger-verb would be too obvious.

Weyland-Yutani verb?
Fiorina chamber?
LV-426 early reflector?
Cobb?
Foss?
Ripley?
Apone?
Ridley Fogverb?

I wrote the text you quoted before the ValhallaRoom 1.0.9 release, which added Sulaco. The only other really good name would be LV-426, but I don't have any algorithms in mind for this name.

Sean, have you used VRoom in 96kHz sessions? I find the whole reverb has more clarity/definition at 96 opposed to 44.1

It probably does in certain modes. This is accidental. Future reverbs will have the same amount of murkiness at all sampling rates. For right now, the added clarity at higher sampling rate probably works for customers that use those sampling rates.

The reason for the coloration differences has to do with the interpolation used in some of the modes. Some delay interpolation styles have pronounced lowpass artifacts around Nyquist, and I tended to design the reverbs with this sound in mind. At 96 kHz, the artifacts will be located in a different area, which will result in different artifacts.

I'll start work on it next week. Right now, I'm in the beta testing stage for the 1.0.1 update for ValhallaÜberMod.

v-room sound extremely good for the price and better than many more expensive verbs, but the briscati M7...hello...

you've tried both and compared them then?

valhalla room has already been compared favourably to many other high end algorithmic reverbs, some of which cost more than the bricasti when they came out, so i'd say it was a fair question actually. i'd also like to know the answer!

i guess at the end of the day though, one is $50, and one is orders of magnitude more expensive, but it's going to be application specific. i'm guessing that on some tracks in some mixes, vroom might be better suited than the bricasti, and vice versa.

IMHO M7 is in a different league due to all the onboard processing that goes on, all you have to worry about is whether Vroom is a quality verb & it certainly is. If you want M7 then you won't find an inexpensive replica

agreed on some sources v-room might even be the winner, maybe. No I did not compare v-room to the m7 but I compared it to the lex 300 the lex pcm96 the lex 480 the lex pcm 91 and the lex pcm80 and the tc m6000 and yes in some cases the v-room was as good as.....valhalla plugs are great absolutely nobrainers!!!

I tried VRoom yesterday and like it very much. It sounds great on a variety of different sources and is very tweakable. I tried it mainly on piano, vocals, drums and percussion. I love the Depth slider; it's great for positioning instruments forward or further back in the mix. Will buy this soon! Hope it stays so mind-bogglingly cheap.

Just got Valhalla Room. Excellent Reverb. Used it on Tenor Sax last week (amongst other things but particularly on the Tenor). It was stunning. Great piece of software.

Vocal Reverb

Sean, thanks for the great plugin.

Is it possible to get some presets for a nice vocal reverb?

Short Reverb, Long Reverb and a nice Plate.

Cheers
