I'm only ever really going to be using it in a mix buss/mastering context, so even the regular V3 with the wow&flutter, noise, and delay settings is overkill for me.

Quintosardo,
Are You going to send email/installer to all Roundtone user when you launch it? Is it possible to use both, v2 and v3 at the same time if v3 is more cpu hungry?

Maybe a bit late to point this out, but I really dig the all grey meters. Much nicer than the brown and green ones in Grasso and Cuttertone IMO. I hope they make it into the final version.

I'm debating on whether I need this or not. lol.
If I get in now, I can get it at the v2 price. Decisions decisions.

This last clip was pretty darned cool. It was the push I needed to get me off the fence. Looking forward to v3!
Thanks for reposting that, that was very kind!

Ok, good feedback after the first tests, no issues
Going in beta today.
Here is a preview of the two new tape formulae.
You can hear a drums loop, first dry, then through "Bright Formulae" tape, then "Lo-Fi" tape and dry again.
These new modes don't include static EQ curve (the whole Roundtone concept is like this), it is all about how they respond to different frequencies.
Bright enhances high frequencies and can add some air, Lo-Fi has a strong midrange sensitivity.
These examples include the new B-exp feature (set to move and bounce), wow and flutter (low level), some noise. Roundtone_v3_New_Formulae
The apparent level is a lot higher with Roundtone on (due to saturation, of course), but peak levels are lower. Just look at the waveform in a wav editor. |
