Thread Starter | New supplier for studio materials in Nashville
Hi Guys, My wife and I have started a new store that sells acoustical materials and other studio necessities: http://www.studiooutfitters.com We have items in stock from RPG, SoundSeal, ESR, and some custom stuff as well. Our list of custom items is going to grow over the next few weeks. If you live in the Nashville area, we can deliver acoustical products to your door and let you "try before you buy". We can also test your room and suggest improvements. Give us a call! -Ben Loftis Studio Outfitters http://www.studiooutfitters.com Nashville, TN, USA 615-509-4085 |

You know, if you're gonna do that, you should look into stocking, 703, 705, rock wool in 1 and 2 inch thicknesses, Guilforn of Maine fabric, and some of the other things that DIY'ers would want to buy. Since Breeding's Insulation has moved (and changed their name), it could be a good thing. I've been buying my Guilford fabric from Silent Source, and they've been great. But I would always prefer to patronize a local business (assuming that all other things are equal, or close to equal).

Good advice - We definitely plan to carry Gilford cloth and some more DIY stuff. It will come with time - we are just getting started ![]() For now we decided to carry the hard-to-find bits. The panels that we carry have a very long lead time from the manufacturer, and most people don't want to wait several weeks to get what they need for a big recording session. Another reason is that we are very enamored of the "try-before-you-buy" approach. Acoustical treatments are not yet a science, particularly when you're going into an existing space. So we're carrying materials that can be moved and traded in and out until the room sounds right. -Ben Loftis http://www.studiooutfitters.com |
