Is this really what we are to expect? If I purchase a powercore now, I can use it for a few months, then have to wait a year for the drivers to catch up with Lion? lol I hope not!

do we really think Lion is THAT close... wouldn't we say a year or more away at LEAST? and who is going to use it at point 0 anyway?

maybe the drivers will work without adaption, who knows... the motu ones did

Lot's of work was gone into this update. It must have been a nightmare sifting through so much code to fix it.

Even though it took very long, I don't think TC could have forseen that Mac OS X would be such a departure from previous versions that it basically crippled powercore's software. I think TC shouldn't be blame for taking that long, as coding for the Powercore isn't as straighforward as AU plugins. They worked their Arses off for this latest Mac Snow Leopard Drivers - they didn't just give up and abandon it, they worked through each beta revision and it's not their fault it took that long.

I'm just glad It's out.

Now I'm just waiting for the issues with Virus Powercore to be fixed/updated.

Snow Leopard was announced less than 3 months before it was released.

That said, of course you're right. .0 (and even .1 and .2) is not wise for someone in a pro production situation!

Hi, after reading some info V4 seems to be heavier on the firewirebus, but easier on the native CPU so...
Someone tried MOTU fw audiointerface and PoCo on the same Fw bus?

Software

I have a question concerning the Powercore Elements...

Can I use them with a Mac running snow leopard? I was thinking of installing it in a case with some UAD solo cards.

So yea... TC Powercore Elements card into a magma case, into my Mac running 10.6.5

Please let me know... I can't find an answer to my question.

Also, when I buy a powercore card and the person doesn't transfer the plugins, that means I have none, including the ones that are normally free, correct?

How can I buy these "free" plugins, i.e. 24/7 compressor?

Thank you and Merry Christmas,
Min

The free plugs are part of the downloadable driver software.

There are certainly people running POCO in a chassis but also some reporting problems getting it to work. Whether there's anyone with a chassis & running Snow Leopard I don't know, so I would research carefully before spending any money.

Thanks for the reply!!!

That's good to know, I think I might just take the plunge. You can usually resell them for the prices I am finding.

But perhaps got a deal going with a MK II.
