I met them, one of the guys worked on the development of the Lexicon 480, they seem like nice people and certainly look like they know their shit...

This unit should have killer reverbs, they told me it has twice the power of a dual processor G5, price is steep though at 3000+, they are also developing a controler with faders just like the larc for this unit...

Yes, Bricasti is happening.

Indeed, we were in Leipzig this past week.

Many thanks to George Necola, who not only shot a short video interview regarding Bricasti, but brought some lunch to the booth as well!

I'm hoping the video came out well enough to post, if not George will do another interview through email.

In any case, we are still on course for units in January. We will be posting the list of our distribution partners very soon and are looking forward to getting the units into the studios that have expressed interest in demoing them.

I will be back in town this coming weekend (Nov 25), so please contact me directly if you would like.

-Casey

Casey!!

you are a very nice guy! hope you enjoed the crepes:D

the video is well recorded. I will do some postproduction with it and upload it then.

Regarding the M7:
I listend to it trough Fostex Headphones. Classical orchestra and guitar. Lexicon testCD.

this unit is AWESOME.. the decay of the reverbaration is one of the best I've ever heard.

This killerunit has AES/EBU, Analog in out and it is only stereo at the moment.

hei Casey, it was supernice to meet you!

hopefully next time at the AES:D

cheers George

Thanks for conducting the interview and posting this video!thumbsup My interest is piqued! There has been no real movement in mid-priced HW reverb processors in quite some time and I'm keen to see just how far you can push modern processing power for a reasonable price. I especially liked when Casey said that the algorithm would be able to do "Some traditional sounds that I've used in my studio for many, many years and wouldn't want to be without....and it'll do some new sounds" I'm going to clear out some space in my already tight 2007 budget for this one and give it a try.

Its the algorithm and the knowledge of the designer/developer of a unit and not the processing power which makes a reverberation unit good or stellar. So i don´t care for processing power ads.

But: I too think it is a great new unit and had a short listen at the Tonmeistertagung in Leipzig. In its price range there is also the brand new Quantec Yardstick (the old is known for a really good and smooth sound of the tale and you can even use it in mastering because even on a stereo mix there is no muddiness and the source stays open). I will compare both side bay side soon and hope that the comparison will not end in the wish to have both.

The new Quantec Yardstick has been "vaporware" for years.... i'll believe it when i see it...

sure

seriously guys - I'm sure this thing rocks but you can't make a 480 better because it's a 480 - THE 480

same with an AMS or Eventide2016 ...

Time will tell if the Bricasti becomse THE Bricasti

Lexicon Killer.
If you are a new user, please let us know about your experience in a more current thread, with maybe a bit more discussion regarding your points.

However, If you are a dealer, (and my apologies if you are not!) this type of post is just not appropriate. Have to agree with studjo here.
