Which version of Pluggo? I am using Pluggo 3.5.2 and it works perfectly with my Samp 8.21 and Colortone Free.

I've bought the Pro version but not installed it yet. The free version is very nice. The SSL EQ patch strapped across the 2-buss is lovely.

This is one of the coolest plugins I've ever used! Their EQ is awesome, and this thing is just unbelievable. Great job!

I updated to Pluggo 3.52, it works fine on Logic 5.51 / Windows XP Pro.

The only problem I have now is zipper noise.

Its cool for a freebie, too bad about the "pro" version...

Its coming soon I bet.... all their other plugs work with Windows so its probably a development delay....

how MUCH do you bet?

Damon from Tritone said this on their own company forum:
"We will not be releasing a Windows version of ColorTone-Pro for a while (perhaps at all, we will see as there are some issues we have yet to solve)."
-----

considering how long the beta period was for the regular old ColorTone Free on Mac, i think you can expect your Pro version for PC within 8 to 10 months, if ever.

Thanks for the announcement here fellas.

Glad people are enjoying the plugin!

To answer a few questions: technical difficulties are hindering the Windows release. No promises.

Someone mentioned more color, the pro version has little more uumph. Give it a shot.

Sorry to be so absent from this forum over the last few months; I finally completed a move from Portland to NYC and, now things should cook along a little quicker.

I have been running Color Tone Pro since it's release on my 2x2 G5 with Digital Performer 4.6 (Pluggo 3.5.2) and it all works with a smoothness.................

I must once again hand it to Damon and Salvator: these guys make plug-ins that have great character and Colortone is all I was hoping it would be. Each one of the circuits/presets has something to offer and the tweakability is next to none.

This is no doubt the best $69 i have spent all year. (Dubstation+907A coming in a close 2nd)
Between Tritone and Audio Damage, its becoming difficult NOT to have so much flavor ITB.

I just tried the Colortone free, and I find the impact very subtle. I expected a little more "color" in the sound......

Not to draw too lofty a comparison, but Dave Hill's Phoenix plug-in is subtle too. Subtlety is a positive attribute w/ this type of thing.

The Pro version can do subtle and extreme colour I suggest you try the demo and be prepared to get your credit card out.

I messed with it a little more once my vocal comps were done. I find on a group fader or master buss to have more of an effect. More toys to play with

Damon,

I don't want to tell you how to run your company, but..... the non-protools native crowd is partial to PCs running windows XP Pro.

So, if your premier plug ins don't support Windows, you're not likely to gain a huge following with the native crowd like Voxengo has in its 1 year of existence.

cdog,

Hate to break this to you, but our sales numbers for HT & VT do not bear this assertion out at ALL. Not even close. Nor does my personsal experience through years of home studio users bringing me projects to work on.

Our willingness to address our problems with CT-Pro for Windows is not really influenced by this but I just thought you should know.

Also, I wouldn't call ColorTone our premiere plugin. We like it, and are happy that others do as well, but we love all of our plugins equally!

D

PS: If you ever want a sneak peak at ColorTone-Pro, I'm in Brooklyn below Park Slope. Feel free to send me an email.

100% wrong.

Chad, you're are right. Nobody uses PCs.....

Not one person who posts in the music computers section.

Its 100% Mac, just like you said.

I think VST is pretty much done as a format and Microsoft is going bankrupt.

Macs ARE very popular as music computers, they're just not as popular as they used to be in the 90s, as Mac prices have shot through the roof and there were build quality and other issues with some G4s.

You can buy a Dell and start making music for $300, so obviously there are a lot more people, especially internationally, who can afford to make music on Windows.

But please, I really don't want to start a platform debate here, I'm just making the simple point there are a LOT MORE PCs than MACs in the world. Something to consider as a software developer.

That being said, you can make great music on either platform, I just personally have a preference for XP Pro (totally stripped down to the core) as my DAW.

Damon,

Thanks for the offer, but I have a G5 as a "personal computer."

I've tried ColorTone Pro, and I like it a lot.

My DAW is Logic 5.51 on the XP Pro. For me its ideal.

Its a shame Windows development of this plug is not a priority for your company, and I'm quite sure I'm not alone in this feeling.

But then again, I'm not sold on Pluggo Runtime, its SLOOWWW, so until something major changes in your development plans I will stick to Aleksey's products and recommend them to all who will listen:

www.voxengo.com

I'm sending him some Sony Inflator processed files and we'll see how many hours it takes him to reverse engineer it and turn it into a native VST plug.

My prediction: 5 hours

Also, I love these guys:

cdog,

Glad you liked ColorTone Pro. I think I remember you now; you emailed me about problems with Logic 5.5 issues with 3.5.1. Small world. Glad it worked better with 3.5.2.

Aleksy makes fine products and you certainly have the tools you need to make music. I am also glad you stopped the platform portion of the debate as I find it totally unproductive as well.
